It was a great Christmas present last year. Going to pick up the foot pod this year for indoor running so I don't have to keep track of how many laps I've done on the indoor track. Ugh, I hate that. I hate the track in general. Me too. Small 200m track. The worst. I'll be running outside as much as I can, but sometimes the weather just won't cooperate. as in 200 m all the way around??? Do you run leaning in the whole time? You do realize that 200m is 1/2 an outdoor track, right? Haha...I might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but YES I realize that. =) Which seems really small to me.
Got it. Wanted to make certain. Yeah, it is small. Nothing like the indoor meets I used to run in HS. The State Meet was on a wooden banked track! Ran the 800, or something odd like that. THAT made me dizzy!! 40m straight away and then a HARD left. Felt bad for the shorter races like the 200. Especially those in the outer lane. I remember one year one guy flew off the top. Was like a 15 foot drop on the other side. He was shaken up but ok. ' HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA! If I remember correctly, he was running one of the shorter ones too, I think the 400. First turn in the race and the boy was flying, then literally HE WAS FLYING. They tell you to keep your lean in, even if you have to slow down. The second you don't lean, your weight takes you up, out and over. Like I said, he was lucky and was able to laugh about it because the floor he landed on was solid concrete. That was in the late 80's. |
