Still out of the office teaching plus I came down with some kind of stomach bug yesterday. Nothing like running back and forth to the bathroom in between sections of class.  Had my computrainer make-up race last night.  Did pretty good but really faded at the end. I could tell my stamina was down with feeling bad.  Then I had to work last night.  I'm getting ready to leave in a few minutes for the new computrainer race in our series.  It actually worked out well-I'm teaching 20 miles from my office--and now I'm only 5 minutes or so away from the shop that offers the race series.  Saved me a lot of driving between last night and today.

Have a great Tuesday!

Work was a bit stressful for me as well.  We announce earnings and the capital infusion plans tomorrow.  I don't think it will effect my group but it is a bit unnerving to wait around for a potential dividend cut, a potential 20B write-off and 20M plus in layoffs.  It is very distracting.  We find out at 6:30 AM EST and the conference calls will go on all day.  I think I would rather be swimming laps in an Ice Bath than wading through tomorrows calls.  But, after almost 29 years in the business the one thing I do know is that we will get through this just like any other past crisis.

I look forward to getting this week behind us...

Lots of good thoughts...good vibes...coming your way! sorry to see that you are going thru this! you have enough on your plate...do that not know this!!?! ;o) Take care and realize that all us are wishing you the best!

Survived another race, but I wanted to give up. I was leading until about 1/3 of the way up the first hill and then I never recovered.  I hadn't eaten since yesterday at lunch time so I had no fuel to burn and my legs just didn't have any gas today. The first hill was short, about 1/2 mile, but 6.2% grade.  The long hill was 4% and about 3 miles long.

Sounds like everyone is busy this week with work issues and some health issues as well. Looks like everyone is getting their workouts in. That's awesome!!! Quick question regarding the Garmin 305. Does it have a power cord? I got one a little over a year ago, been sitting in a drawer after opening it. I finally broke it out tonight. I have the cord that goes from the base to the usb port. Is there a power cord that plugs into the same port on the base of the unit? If anyone knows please let me know. Thanks all, Have a great "hump " day!!! Chris

Evening All!

It's 10:07 PM, and I've been working until now. I should STILL be working, but I have a dog who needs to go out.

Have I mentioned lately how happy I am that I have a dog? He gets me outside. (Although, I think it's freezing out there!!!!)

Hahahahaha! That is great!

Mine just looks hung-over. Yours looks... beyond that. LOL

Love the flying fish coming out of the cup. Love the fish on the purple slippers. Love the "speedo" logo on the mug.

Thanks for brightening up my day! This pic is great! (I'm putting him on my log, in fact. LOL)

To answer your question...the hookup between the Garmin and the USB port is your power source.  You should have a kind of dock looking thing and when it is hooked into your computer, it will recharge.  I don't think it has to be on to charge either.  To load runs or bikes it does need to be turned on and the program will load and it will charge.  Does that answer your question?  I love mine because I can go out for runs and not have to think about distance...just look down on my wrist.  I like to also see how accurate races are.  Have fun with it!

What a day, started work at 5:00 AM, finished at 3:30 PM, then crammed in a run between finishing a yard project and a quick dinner before a church meeting.  My swimming in the morning was replaced by conference calls.

Glad I will be up at 5:00 AM again tomorrow... It will be a better day!  Planning a nice bike ride after work and then dinner and eighth row for Itzak Perlman.  I hope I don't fall asleep...  Somehow some serious snoring may not be appreciated by the other patrons.  We will still be at the concert after my bedtime...

Also, a Garmin is an amazing tool for running and biking.  In a drawer for a year? Wow, I don't leave home without mine.  And, there is a plug in attachment you can use to charge it other than your computer.  I travel with them.

Glad your day is over, it would be nice to ride outside, wo'nt see much of that till about March. Waht type of run, recovery fairly short. Ran tonight on the indoor track 5miles 50:23, still having that pain in right calf, then both hamstrings got really tight on me was hard to keep a fast pace had to slow pace. The tight hams are something new, any ideas? Mike

Mike my hammies are like piano wire, another reason why I hate to run. Anyway, two stretches for ya. 1st lie on your back extend one leg out and up to 90degrees. use a towel or resistance band, old bike tube, whatever over the arch of your foot and pull your toes towards your head. 2nd sit on a table or bench whatever you can so long as your feet don't touch the ground. drop your head and put your chin on your chest. Extend one leg out(like a leg extension on a machine). key is to keep your chin on your chest. Good luck with it!!!

Also thanks go out to Pam and Emerson for the info on the Garmin. I guess it's a sad commentary when it's been in the drawer so long I've forgotten how to use. Well, no more, it go out on the road today and saw a glorious sunset!!!
Have a great night all!!!

Starting to feel a little better but I'm off my plan till Fri.  I may do a short trainer ride tonight to loosen the legs up.  I'm surprisingly unsore after back to back races.  My legs feel really good.  If my stomach will only finish settling down, I'll be in good shape.

I love dogs!

I have a Standard Poodle. One of the big guys.

(For those who are only familiar with little poodles.... well, let's just say that the Standards are NOT little "yappy dogs." In fact, mine has a personality more like -- well, a cross between a border collie and a lab. LOL)

Emerson - I empathize!

Started work at 7:30 AM, finished up at 6:30 PM. Really wanted to get a workout in, but I'd hardly eaten anything all day. Came home and ate - but I don't remember what....

Right now, I'm playing on BT, um, because I like BT - and because I'm too brain dead for anything else. (In other words --> I'm typing this post while brain dead -- which means who KNOWS what I'm about to type next!!!!)

Itzak Perlman?!?!?! How cool is that! You'll have to let us know how the concert was!

I don't know what is in the water but it seems that work has plagued many of us.  I love what I do but this last week has had a little too much of it.  Up today at 4:45 AM to send e-mails to my team in Cincinnati before they arrive then out the door at 5:25 for a 6:00 AM bible study.  Did the team conference call from the car on the way back.  Worked straight through until 4:30 PM when I took off for Tucson (25 miles south) for dinner and a concert.  Just walked back in the door after a 19 hour day.

I could not hit the sack without checking BT.  No matter how long my day, it brings a great sense of support and community when I find the notes checking up on and encouraging me.  My own kids don't check up on me as much as many of you do.  It is greatly appreciated!

5:15 AM comes pretty fast so it is good night my friends.

All the notes put a perfect end to a very long day!

Thank you!

Well kids and it's o-dark-thirty and I'm up.....seems the storm of the century has hit North Carolina....oh wait, it's only 2 inches of snow.....but the news stations seem to believe otherwise.  I'm waiting for my friends at the tv stations to set up their requests for interviews for their morning broadcast.  I'm looking out the window at the first snowfall that I think we've had in the last 2 winters and thinking about how much I don't want to go in to work later.  2 inches isn't much anywhere in the real world, but when the entire metropolitan area has less than 20 trucks to salt/plow roads in an area with nearly a million folks who aren't used to driving on snow/ice, driving gets a little dicey at times.  I'm looking forward to my 9 month old seeing the snow for the first time.  Should make for some cute pics....I'll have to post one later.  Have a great day!

Well Eric we got some of that white stuff too... But being we are used to it they had been putting beat juice down on the roads for two days, that keeps it from sticking to bad... Our kids just get a two hour delay and then they are off to school.

Have a great day everyone!!!!!! I would glitter you, but don't know how, that's Dee's department.
