Okay- here's my commitment for this week.  The commitment of strength 4 TIMES will be a doozy-  I just changed one of them to be a stretch or yoga if need be.  Just knocked off the 97 minute trainer ride before dinner (and what a fine dinner it was- grilled steak and grilled veggies) and I must have ridden the last hour of it quite hard, cause my legs are BEAT.  But since we have a ton of fresh snow that appears to be here to stay, I'm glad I got the long ride out of the way for the week. Because seriously? That long trainer ride hangs over my head like the darkest cloud till it's over.  And they go much smoother during afternoon or evening hours- there is NOTHING on the tv when I hop on the bike at 5:00 am. Most channels are on infommercial.

I think starting next week, I will aim to work a 30 minute massage into my day off; found a place on Wednesday-- across the street from my office no less- that does them for $35.   I think it will be too late to work that into tomorrow's plan.

We are on the final countdown to Florida- 2 weeks of rest and relaxation- with nothing planned but working out and resting and reading the 10 books I have stacked beside my bed - I CAN'T WAIT. DH and I just committed to 3 weeks of eating healthy and exercising in preparation for bathing suits- we are going to try to do a workout- either strength or stretch a few nights this week.  I think I have been [what I'd like to call] a positive influence on my kids lately- tonight after dinner, they both turned on (on separate tvs) Fit TV on Demand and did yoga and stretch/strength workouts ( in so far as they could do them ) I think I have mentioned it before, but if you have Time Warner, some of these stretch and flexibility on demand workouts are GREAT (and all are free). I am going to do a yoga stretch one in the morning-  and my younger son had on a ballet strength and stretch 18 minute workout that was  TERRIFIC (very cute to watch a 6 year old do a modified version of it   And there are TONS of them. I'm excited about the prospect of adding these to my week just to mix things up.

It might be impossible to get 2 swim workouts in this week- we have some very crazy pool hours-- but it was dark until about 7 tonight, so maybe I can get in a run or cross-country ski after dinner? Longer daylight hours may add variety after dinner, but it's going to be dark again the whole time I'm at the gym before work.......

I think I've said enough to make up for nearly no posts all weekend.  SO, Happy Second Full Week of March, everyone. Let's rip it up.

Mimi- how was Clermont?  Hope it was AWESOME. I'm sure it was. It sure sounded it. I THOUGHT I'd signed up for the SuperSprint Tri there April 5 this am, but when I got no confirmation email, I am now wondering....and will have to call tomorrow.

I am baaaaack...and wiped out...and fighting illness....and getting ready to settle in for a movie with my best girl.  Just have to say when I checked the weather for Clermont for this past saturday, there was a wind advisory that said "may make driving dangerous"....yup.  driving.   Coach said now any wind I have will seem like nothing   It was also like 40 degrees this morning.  People, that's COLD for us southerners Sealed.  Overall, a really, really good weekend.

AND now to hit 95% of planned workouts this week!!!  Good luck...don't forget if you are participating to post your plans by tomorrow so we can heckle you if need be   Amy-good for you getting that monkey off your back so early!!

Goal: 95 %HrsMinHrsMin%HrsMin
Swim030  00-30
Bike730  0-7-30
Run130  0-1-30

This is a bike focused week. Good for my leg. The schedule ½ marathon race on Sunday is cancelled, but I might get a long run this week, if the legs will allow me. I'll most likely hits > 300% of the swim this week.

Though not in my plan, I’ve included 30 min strength and 1hour 10min stretching. Focus will be on my back. Have a nice week everyone and lets hit the 95+ %

I was planning to join in but we just received the standardized testing schedule for the week and they have eliminated my prep (aka swim/bike) periods all week so I can sit and proctor.  I won't be able to do much of anything because of this.

Good luck to those who can participate.

Posting my spreadsheet for the week, which is already updated for today   Look at that 100% for my strength work !! Also did 15 min stretching after lifting, but I am planning on some good, longer stretching sessions as well...This weekend I have a 4 hour brick and on sunday a trifecta...oh, and it's the BMX Gator Nationals, so I will also be living at the BMX track.  But  at least it shouldn't be cold and windy!

Did pretty well on the overall minutes last week, just didn't do much according to the day I was "supposed" to do them.  Guess that is ok when you are building your own plan and don't necessarily have a reason for workout progression.

I'm finally feeling better after spending almost all of Sat. in bed and doing slow-mo puttering around the house on Sun.  The big question of the day is: do I go to the Tri-Girls meeting tonight or stay home and have a "hot date" with the trainer?  (Of course, if I can't get a babysitter, then "hot date" it is).

I say you go to the meeting to get your mental edge on for your race on Sunday!!!!!!! and then maybe hop on the trainer when you get home. But what do I know?

one trainer ride won't make or break you...but one meeting could yield lots of positives...I'd vote for the meeting...and yes if you feel up for it, hop on the trainer for a bit.

I'm going to pass on tracking missed times...it will make me crazy.  I've done really good that last three weeks only missing one workout but now it looks like it may be more.  If it's not one thing it's another.  My shoulder is bothering me and I moved some things around to give it some rest but I don't think it's healing. My last swim was great so I'm not sure why it's sore unless it's my bike fit.. which I have already spent $300 on getting fitted and tweaked etc...not excited about adding to that but you gotta do what you gotta do.  Grrr...

I love Whole Foods. There is not one ANYWHERE  near here, and by "near here" I mean not even within 2 hours.  But there's one where we go in Florida!!!!!!

Weather here today is snowing AGAIN. I am hating it! But I convinced the boss to bring running clothes, so there's an afternoon run (probably quite short, but a run nonetheless) in the works! And swimming tonight.

I have been a slug in productivity at work and home this week- so I am vowing to turn that around today! Yesterday, I spent too much time on nytimes.com waiting to see if our swarmy governor was going to resign office!!! Good God!

Hump day...are we on track?  I did an extra strength workout today for fun, but now I can tell I am going to be in need of that scheduled stretching.

Amy, this weekend we are going to up near 90, so you have that to look forward to!

Weather should be fine this weekend, so I'll take the biking outside, have planned for min. 4 hours.

I'm such a bad team member!! What is this spread sheet thing? And challenge? If I had more than two minutes for myself I'd read the three pages of posts I missed. I'm excited about Korea, but the amount of work I need to do to make sure that missing two weeks of work is okay is insane. I have managed to get all my workouts in even with the pool closing (I'll do them this weekend at the Y instead of hte HS), but it means no personal time at all.

For example, last night for dinner (at 9:15 PM, post workout) I put rice I made 6 days ago!!! in bowl with 1/2 cup of black beans straight from a can, topped with hot sauce, microwave for one minute and ate it half cold. Then I went to bed. I ate lunch while in a meeting (half cold chicken fingers, iceberg lettuce and scalloped potatoes my secretary scavenged from another meeting). Today is the same, except we need to include a trip to Target for travel bottles for shampoo etc, and the mall for a plug/transformer thingy.

My recommended packing list is insane. Work wear for lectures, casual for in-country days, no jeans in the temples, something to hike a mtn in, and comfortable shoes. Some of these events are on the same day, so I think I must need to change or wear sneakers with my work clothes? And they want us to pack an additional overnight bag for the 6 nights we arent' in Seoul. That would be easy if I didn't need to pack for work, hiking and temples all at once.

And the plugs, why can't I find the stinking plugs?

I hate packing so I totally feel your pain Kim!!!!  That's a lot of different stuff to have to bring

I have found the plug convertors at Radio Shack, I think it was.  When do you leave???

BTW, I have had that same dinner under similar conditions (ate it half cold, then went to bed ).  It sucks.

Kim- packing is always a challenge. Last summer, I had to pack for a trip that started at a 40th birthday party/girls' weekend in the Hamptons and ended at Disney with my kids, sister and niece and nephew. It was like some sort of weird game show challenge to pack that bag- sounds like you have a challenge as well.

Just determined that I did tomorrow's bike today (should have been 68, I did 78) - I have one bike, a short and a long run and two strengths and one strength or stretch to get through by Saturday to meet the challenge. Also must attend son's IEP meeting, prepare birthday cake, host a birthday sleepover for an 8 year old and get through the next two days getting ready for my boss to head out for vacation. With a sick husband. And snow and below zero temps. Hmmmmm. Can I get in your bag and go to Korea?

you might fit! I'll admit my greatest concern is diet coke, where will I get my diet coke, or coke light or what ever it is there. Its not a pickiness thing, its a caffeine thing.
