Expert 1121 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2011 Part 2 - CLOSED Very "easy" run on the treadmill this morning, only for 30 minutes. Trying to slwoly ease back into running. No irritationin the IT band, but still felt a slight irritation in the hamstring. Stretching after helped that. Heading to the gym for stength training after lunch. have a great monday |

Pro 4723 CyFair | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2011 Part 2 - CLOSED Longish, slow run this morning. I hate this getting dark early stuff. Had promised Reagan we'd go ride her bike yesterday afternoon and at 5 PM it was just about too dark to really do it. I felt horrible since she talks every day about practicing so she can get her training wheels off. Ugh. |

Pro 4528 Norwalk, Connecticut | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2011 Part 2 - CLOSED DDVMM - 2011-11-20 7:01 PM Back from Philly...what a beautiful day to run! Perfect temps! I am pretty happy with the results. Officially ran a 2:05, but the course was long at 13.33. I got to 13.1 at 2:03 and the end was no where in sight! The first half I ran the first 10K in 56:53 - was really happy with that, but then the back half had a big hill that killed me for a bit and I lost time there. I ran a couple miles at an 8:45, but averaged 9:30 for the race overall.
So do I count this as 2:05 knowing the course was long or go by my watch and use the 13.1 time?
Great work Michelle!!!! Congrats on a great race!!!

Extreme Veteran 3020 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2011 Part 2 - CLOSED Michele - Fantastic job! Karen - I cook sweet potatoes at least once a week. I make them in all different ways. If it's a grill night, then I cut them into large cubes, toss them in olive oil and salt, wrap them in foil, and cook them on the grill. Last night I diced them into tiny cubes and cooked them in a pan with olive oil. My kids are going to leave my house as young adults never wanting to eat sweet potatoes again in their lives. LOL Jeff (jslarz) - Get better soon, dude! I've had a cough for about 2 weeks, which has been keeping me up at night. If you have any burning in your lungs, or if you are hacking up green stuff, then you probably ought to see a doc. Pain or hack = meds. Might want to get in before the holiday. Do you have a fever? Jeff (rizer) - Hope your ITB issue is sorted out and you were able to run painfree today!! I was on the bike early this morning. Had planned on doing a Spinervals dvd, but my husband messed with our computer last night, and it's doing all sorts of crazy things. I'm going to lift and do swim drills at the gym tonight. I leave for my parents' house on Wednesday, where we'll stay for 5 days. Will probably run on Thursday and Friday at my aunt's house. Saturday and Sunday are total rest days. Lots and lots of eating, drinking, and euchre. Huge euchre player here. Grew up playing it. We play for $, too. Edited by jarvy01 2011-11-21 8:23 AM |

this weekend i had a cyclocross race, it was the CT state champs i finally got a front row start whistle blew and i get a good jump was trying to get a hole shot lead, 150 meters in I snapped my chain, start the walk of shame back to the infield and the race director yells, you wanna borrow my kids bike?? Some 5 mins later race director lends me his kids bike, the seat is 3cm to low, the bike is 2 sizes too small, he tells me i'll give you a buck for ever rider you chase down, 40 mins later and 20 guys, i ran down half the field for a 20/40 finish. Paid for my race fee!! but god did that 40 minutes hurt like hell!!! my good buddy and training partner ended up winning the race, very happy for him!!! Edited by Rudedog55 2011-11-21 8:55 AM |

Just raspy, wheezy cough that is basically stopping me from working out as deep breaths trigger coughing fits. i'm OD'ng musinex and my inhaler. Now was not the time i really wanted to take a week off. I was doing well in terms of my running. Meh, par for the course these days, here is what we dealt with last week refrigerator was making noise, our plasma TV randomly stopped working and my wife's car broke down. |

Master 1832 Elgin, IL | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2011 Part 2 - CLOSED That is hilarious, but whatever it takes to get it done. We actually had a ride n' tie out here this past weekend (10 miles where 1 runs while the other bikes, but you have to finish together and you have to switch at least 2 times), and it was funny to hear about the 5'2" people on the same team as a 5'8" person and handing the bike back and forth between the two. Totally doing that with my nephew next year! |

According to Slowtwitch, he competed in IMLP this year and finished in 10h and a little, and leaves behind two kids. 9 yo daughter and 6 yo son, who were both at the race. It is so sad. I can't stop thinking about him or the too young 21 yo man who died. |

Pro 4528 Norwalk, Connecticut | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2011 Part 2 - CLOSED Jeff R-- yeah, i had a pretty good shot to win this one, the guy that won it i train with alot, we are very diffrent in riding style, he is an Ironman, can go for ever, i think he went 10:13 in LP, I ride much different, i have huge acceleration/power, but my endurance is no where near his, it woulda been a good game of cat/mouse, i woulda tried to bury him with hard attacks, he woulda tried to ride me into the ground with a constant uptempo pace, in the end, i think i woulda got 2nd to him, but it woulda been close. Carrie, this site really needs a like button "i asked for a foundation spot and got no response" I laughed my a$$ off, that is exactly the response i woulda got...... The only thing is my quads still hurt from not being able to extend while riding, and i musta jammed the handlebar into one, cause i have a very sore spot and a big knot in one. Jeff-y, yes i am, that is why you like me, i am cheap entertainment. Michelle, yes, this has the ability to become local folk lore by me, i never do anything easy, thats no fun. Where's Jenny??? Getting ready to travel for Turkey day??? |

Did some drills at the pool last night, and now my nose is bugging me. Got in an easy 8 with hill repeats this morning. Will try and squeeze in a bike/run brick early tomorrow morning before we leave. I probably won't be online at all after today (well, until Sunday). My family has requested that I be present in the moment. Whatever the heck that means Jeff (jsklarz) - I know you have a cholorine sensitivity, too. Do you wear a nose clip? Have you ever tried one? I'm really getting sick of the drippy nose after swim sessions (sometimes lasting 24 hours or more), but I'm afraid a clip would really annoy me. |

Going to get in another 6 miles running and a good hour plus of trainer time today. So Cindy fell off the running wagon when we got back from Italy, but has climbed back on and we're running a 5k on Thursday. It will be her first while trying to actually run the whole way. She's convinced me to run with her instead of racing. So I get to push the blocking sled or jogging stroller full of 80 lbs of kid or whatever you want to call it at a nice 11 min per mile pace. |
