chichitao - 2009-10-16 5:36 PMSara, lets see...we will be staying in downtown and only have public transportation so can't go too far. Looking for a good deep dish pizza and a good
(but not too fancy
) steak
(we dont want to mess with packing dress clothes!
). We're pretty simple people who are just gonna explore downtown, wrigley field, lincoln park, the shoreline, and wanna find good local places to eat
(we don't do sushi!

). Thanks!
for steak i don't think you can go wrong with Gibsons
(it's casual and in a good area to go out afterwards
). Also you have to go get Italian beef
(the other major food Chicago is known for
). There are a few people that claim to be the best but there is this one hole in the wall place that is amazing the name escapes me though let me ask my old co-worker. For deep dish, as commercial as it sounds, Uno's is good, it's supposedly the original and the pizza taste different from the national chain. Bricks is also pretty good. Chicago has great food.. The last 3 yrs i've been going to Chicago what seems like once a month so i've tried pretty much everything.
the italian beef place is called Mr Beef. not sure how i can forget that name.. have fun.
