KML - 2008-08-31 9:11 PM Hey all. Getting the workouts in, is always easier when you don't have to go it alone. Went for a ride today with a friend, and the route that used to take me about 75 min, took +2 hours. I have really procrastinated way too much these past couple of years. I am tired of being a lump, i am here, to make sure i follow through. Kevin

Welcome to the team, Kevin!

D001 - 2008-08-31 9:26 PM Hopefully, our teammates aren't looking like this right now:

That picture is both hysterical and creepy -- well done.

I walked 4.5 miles (1h7m), but the sad part is, i was only 2 minutes slower than when i last "ran" it.

Got my run done!!!  My Garmin died on me mid run.  I hate that.  Off to a picnic.  Hope you all have a great day!

Okay, folks, it is now Sept and all of our workouts now count. Let's do as great a job with our workouts as we have been with our posting.

Strength session #1 is done! I'm at, um.... 3%. LOL

That pretty much sums up my running. It's just a shade faster than my walking, and much more painful....

Did you see the racewalking during the Olympics? Kind of strange looking, but they were certainly moving quickly!

Race walking is weird, and destroys knees.

I was wondering about the knees. There's certainly less impact than with running, but it looked to me almost like they were hyperextending their knees. (It was tough to tell from the camera angle though.)

Excellent. If you start to lag with your September goals, we'll make you race walk. And you'll do it along the sidewalk of a busy street. Wearing spandex. With all your friends and neighbors watching.

Wow, that makes the cattle prod seem almost appealing.

Ummmm... yeah, I'm gonna need to just step away from the thread for a bit.  I'm afraid I might say something really naughty... (and not in a most delicious way, I'm afraid!!! ).

I taught a cycle class this morning and did some ST already today and am heading out for a long ride in a bit.  Perfect weather for riding... giddyup!

As promised, 16 miles completed.  The race went well, and eventually I will get the race report up.

Congrats on a good race!

I managed to get out for a short run.  It is hot out there today!  What's up with the 90 degree temps?  I thought we were supposed to be winding down to that beautiful fall weather.

I've got an easy swim on tap for this evening then it's study time.  Hope y'all enjoy the rest of your Monday (or the start of your Tuesday, as the case may be)!

Im 1 strength session and 52 minutes of bike time done...  should have been more but I was quite late getting to my workout and then got some weird pain in my foot so decided it was for the best I quit before I did anything stupid!

Its weird... I dont 'think its the PF coming back... but who knows? I think its just another sign that the gym really needs to get cleats on the spin bikes

Okay random question. What do you guys use to get the chlorine out of your hair after swims? I can't seem to find the swimmer shampoo I used to use when I was in college. My hair is beginning to dry out. Please help!!

I have a 'clarifying' champoo... most major brands have a version of it and it stops my hair from:

a) drying out

b) turning green

I also use a REALLY good conditioner in the shower as well as a leave in conditioner/detangler everytime I wash my hair

And use a swim cap in the pool... they are annoying but it took my AGES to get my hair 'presentable' again so....

ive been using this strategy for a few years and its served me well (even though I havent been in the pool much this year!)
