jacquigirl

Welcome Jacqui...But can we really have an Eagles fan on this team???? (I had to make the conversation a bit more masculine...feeling like I'm in a henhouse. )

Can you believe it, I didn't play McNaab or Westbrook last week for Fantasy Football

not that it would have mattered, I still would have lost

Hey Vixens,

Anyone besides Mel doing anything fun tonight.  I plan to watch mindless television, log on BT and toast to the 75th anniversary of the recinding of prohibition.   Cosmo any one?

Well, now you've gone and done it.  Kristin will be hitting the drinks after seeing that pic.

I think I need a refill too

I don't need a picture to get me hitting the drinks! I'm on my second glass of wine, I look like a total slob and I think I may watch a Sex & the City marathon or something. What a gripping life I lead.

I sent the teach an e-mail letting her know he needed the OT services but that is all.  I am observing Cole in the classroom on Monday during instructional time (should be interesting).  So, I'll probably swing by the office and see if I can talk to the school psych who is handling the case.  I am still not sure what to do.  Good thing I have all weekend to try to sort it out!

In school systems it seems like the squeaky wheel always gets the grease so go ahead and squeak.  While you are doing it it seems like a pain but I think that everyone understands that you are just advocating for your child. It's not like you have some frivolous concern or hidden agenda you are pushing.

Sort version:

Cole (middle child) has issues!  He is hearing impaired and now needs Occupational Therapy.  The school is not doing a darn thing to help.  I want some speech testing done (seeing as he can't hear) but they won't do it.  They wouldn't even evaluate his fine motor skills to see if he needed OT so the teacher recommended I do it independently.  Our insurance covers it so I pursued it.  We had our independent eval done today and they said he needs services and couldn't understand why the school hasn't been servicing him all along.  They recommended I fight the school to get him help in school as well as them helping him.  I've been fighting with the school for about a month or so.  We just found out Cole is h/i last month.  It has been a tough month.  One thing after another.  I'm tired.

True.  I don't mind squeaking, I just don't think I should have to!  It makes me mad for all those kids whose parents don't go after what their kids need.  Sad.

Unfortunately for the schools it's all about the $$$$ (and property tax rates here in RI since there is little state funding for the schools). The kids whose parents don't fight really lose out.
