deehtz - 2010-03-08 9:46 AM Morning!

Yesterday I did a "practice" tri with some friends.  Boy was I pooped the rest of the day.  I had wanted to go try out the new bike but it rained really hard.  I just wasn't ready for that much rain already being so tired and hungry.

Believe me I will be watching for my first opportunity to try her out on familiar territory!

Our little indoor practice tri was a lot of fun though!

WOOHOO!!! on the practice tri!

Sorry it was raining so you couldn't get out. Hopefully soon.

kcarroll - 2010-03-08 9:40 AM Morning Ghoulies.  Sounds like everyone had lots going on this weekend.  It was beautiful weather here and the snow is almost gone....yippeee.  I am ready for spring.  Jealous of all the bikers.  I don't have the gear and it's not quite warm enough yet.  I really should go check out what's on sale at the lbs.

I ran 7 on Saturday but my knee was really grumping and I had to walk the downhills.  Not a good sign.  So, I swam on Sunday.  Turns out it was Pervert Day at our Y.  Stacie, do you have those at yours?  Pool was fairly crowded.  Guy in the lane next to me swam maybe 100 - 150 yards in the 30 mins he was in the water.  Mostly he just stood at the wall adjusting himself.  Not sure who was more appalled, me or the poor guy sharing the lane with him.

You're not getting runner's knee are you Kim?

and

EWWWWW!!!

EWWWWW!!! is right.

Afraid I'm going to have to go back to to the sports doc and get an MRI.  He diagnosed me with patello-femoral syndrome and had me on PT.  It's not getting better. When my long runs get further than 7 miles or so I start having problems.  Grrrrrr.

Sounds like someone needed to accidentally pop someone in the lower mid section with a kick to the groin.

Not that I have pool supremacy but it sort of irks me that someone is taking a lane that someone else could be using by just sitting in the water basically.  Go to the zero entry pool and stay out of the lap lane area please!

Saturday afternoon I had these 2 dimwits keep jumping in and out of my lane when there were 3 open lanes.  Kind of confusing to someone like me - anyone else care to let me know why they thought this was an integral part of their training?

I was just wondering the other day how much it would cost to buy the Y. Then I wouldn't have to deal with all the people there. Then it occured to me that I own acreage. It would probably just be cheaper to build the parts I want, I don't need them all.

I'll have to play the lottery a little more frequently if I'm going to build my own gym. If I do though free lifetime membership to all Ghoulies!!!

I just need the inground heated pool.  I can make do with my own biking and running and I really don't lift weights that much anymore with boot camp.

So if someone wants to front me about 20K for the pool I am good with that

I'll put that on my list of things to do after I win the lottery.

I live in a townhouse, so no outdoor pool unless I'm willing to make it the community pool and that defeats the purpose.  BUT, I have a big unfinished basement and I would seriously like to put an endless pool down there.  I took lessons in the endless pool at the TI studio with Terry L and they are great.  (Terry is too.)  Unfortunately, they are a bit pricey.  About 25 - 30k for the basic pool, not including installation.  What I really like is that you can include a UV cleaning system, so no need for chlorine.  Sigh. Maybe someday.

Dear Ann's Boss,

Please excuse Ann for the remainder of the day.  She requires bike therapy to help her overcome the mental pain and suffering inflicted upon her by this ridiculous work environment.

The UV system would be nice.

When I was in college they used bromine (sp) in the pool. I tried to swim a few times and I got sick every time. I wanted to take the life guard class but couldn't because of this.

You got it!

Ann(e)'s Boss,

She is gone - you stink - her bike doesn't.

If you need her get your lazy butt on your bike and catch her if you can.

If not, see you in November or the next snow storm, whichever comes first.

It really is for the best of all involved!

Thanks,

Me!

Who's mad?

I'm just trying to give you a visual of her. Just me being here makes her mad at me, so I don't care what she thinks.

Good morning Ghoulies! Typical Monday morning here with a horrible commute, office-mate crunching on dry cereal behind me (like finger nails on a chalk board), and deep cleaning required around the office for a VIP visit this week. Yay.

At least I can hang in the Village for a while! Time to go catch up on all the chatter this morning.

Hey Bill I have a question for you...

Is there a difference between cross country skiing and touring?

When we were hiking in the snow yesterday we were taking about cross country skiing and someone made mention of touring ski's. I know nothing about skiing, so I don't know what he was talking about.
