Can you believe it is raining here again today?  Jeez, we are nearly into June!  Oh well, nothing for me today, feeling like crap!

Rain is better than snow for this time of year. Neither is fun when you want to go for a ride or something though. Hope you get feeling better. We need you're monster workout schedule to stay ahead of the ladies.

Nice post padding, Bill!  I got a 45 minute trainer ride in this morning.  I'm doing a mini taper for what will now be a mini sprint race on Saturday.  I'm going to the Y at lunchtime to do a 1/2 hour swim in my wetsuit to get the feel for that once again.  Then a short run tomorrow morning and one day off before the "big" Undecided race.  The most difficult part of this race is the ocean swim.  Every year (this will be my 3rd), it's a total shock to the system.  The water will be around 56-58 degrees and that just freaking HURTS!  It's less of a swim and more of a mad paddle for survival.

The scout camp we went to every year growing up had a glacier fed lake. We always paid extra to go the warmest time of the year when the water was 50-52 degrees. We didn't do much swimming but we had to take the swim test to go out in the canoes. We were supposed to swim some distance and then float for 60 seconds. It was a "mad paddle for survival" as you described and then tread water like crazy or you would sink like a rock. Its crazy swimming at those temps and it gives you a headache that takes forever to go away.

Went out for a bike ride but then noticed one of my neighbors was shingling his roof so I stopped to help and didn't make it back out. We finished up just as it was getting dark. I did go out for a late night run (at 12:30) after I finished up some work stuff. Very relaxing.

Not sure what today will hold for a workout. My son has an awards banquet for school tonight. I hope it doesn't go too long. I need to get in a bike ride and another run tonight.

Feeling a little better today.  Sucked it up and went to work.  Got a 3 mile run done on the treadmill.  Another day of rain here with more showers forecasted for tomorrow.  No ocean swim this week with the rain as the E-coli count will be elevated for a few days.

I was thinking about going to a Total Immersion workshop over the weekend, but when I called to register it was already full.  Oh well, I was having a hard time justifying spending that much money right now anyways.

Got my lunchtime swim in... a full mile in the wetsuit.  In the 3 years I've been going to this Y, this is the first time I've had to wait for a swim lane.  That'll teach me for trying to get over there early...  Everyone else had the same idea!

tri808 - 2010-05-25 5:53 PM I forgot my running shoes today...ARRGGGHH

So I won't be able to get in my 5 mile lunch run.  Still riding after work, but since Monday is a holiday and the last day of the month, I'll try to squeeze in a run that morning.

They celebrate Memorial Day in Hawaii - I thought every day was a holiday on the Islands Jay?

Hope the ride went good!

I suppose you could say everyday is a holiday.  =)

Remembered my shoes today, so running at lunch.  Took my road bike out yesterday for the first time in a while.  It was really windy and I wished I could have gone aero...LOL.  But it was nice to be able to ride upright at times.
