rnihill - 2010-10-14 8:25 AM And Melissa - I have to say that your mask FREAKS me out!  I'm very glad it's all nice and sunny here while I'm home all alone.  Laughing

I will put a nice pirate up soon, don't worry. I drove around yesterday wearing this mask (I was in the passenger seat - safety first) and a black hoodie. Cool

That's ok!  My plans are to get some work done, do some laundry, run OUTside, sign the kids up for swim lessons, clean the bathroom, maybe get some more work done...  Tonight my younger daughter has Open House at her preschool.  I'm looking forward to that - it's so cute to watch them show you the stuff around the room that they are proud of.  AND we get to go to Five Guys for dinner.  Laughing

What are you up to today?

I finished 30 min of strength training yesterday and am heading to log and spreadsheet it.

I deferred Tuesday's run to Wednesday because of the problems caused by my long run on Sunday. Last night I decided to cancel that run all together and just to today's run today (Thursday). If I start playing catch up the week following my injury and still go run another long run on the weekend, I'm asking for trouble. Don't worry, the cancellation is a short run and I can still meet my goal no problem.

Here's hoping for an injury free long run this weekend. I did some things wrong and will change my ways to help prevent further problems.

That sounds like a great day minus laundry and bathroom! I haven't heard of Five Guys but it sounds like a diner. Am I right?

It's a hamburger place, with the BEST burgers ever!  Not even remotely healthy though...

Oh I forgot to mention after revealing my not so great lunch and dinner choices that I had a great (yummy and healthy) breakfast yesterday.

REAL slow cook oatmeal, sunflower seeds, golden raisens, and chopped dried apricots - all cooked together.

I can never eat the pre-package oatmeal again.

I had my already made ham&cheese sandwich for breakfast...  I'm not off to a good start if I'm going to deserve Five Guys...  But it went surprisingly well with my coffee!

This morning I think I'm going to do my mixed berry variation of oatmeal...

2/3 cup oatmeal, 300ml water, 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries, 1 tbsp honey.

(From an earlier discussion, here's evidence of me using metric and imperial to suit my needs.)

Ugh...  The YMCA site is not cooperating with me!  I'm going to have to call to sign the kids up.  That never goes well for me either...  I need to check ANYthing off my list!  And this was supposed to be the easiest.  Yell

I tend to do a healthy breakfast and then it goes downhill from there. My issue is husband and friends at dinner time.

I have control over lunch and exercise control half of the time. For example, my 500 cal pizza!

Out of control dinner example... pizza from a chain store which concludes with me eating too large a portion, half a garlic dip (delicious, but might as well dip into butter), and a coke.

I updated but and the Ghoulies are 2.7% ahead of us. 18 days left!

Once I do my 5km and strength workout (30-60min) we should be pretty close.

Have you tried real oatmeal?

I love that it makes me feel full. There are few morning items that keep me happy for 2 hours.

I'm starting to feel all talk no action since I had to give up my Tuesday run.

I'm off to do a gentle 5km and hopefully have no objections from my foot. I will run as slow as I have to - just as long as I can get out there and get some km's in!

Oh good.  We're talking about food again.

I *heart* oatmeal, especially now that the weather is starting to cool.  My favorite is to simply add brown sugar and cinnamon.  Honey and raisins are also a nice addition.

Hope everyone has a fab day.  I'm getting ready to head to work for a little overtime.  *blech*  On the plus side, it should pay for the HIM that I'm going to sign up for.

Later Gators!

Ben and Jerry is icecream right?

Pizza is my bestie.

I have a cokeacola problem.

Ben and Jerry's is more than just ice cream...it is food from the gods.  Seriously - Chubby Hubby is a little piece of heaven here on earth.
Chunky Monkey!!!

PHISH FOOD!!!!  The best ice cream ever!!

OMG I just remembered the amazingness that is Moose tracks! We don't get very exciting icecream here in Oz which is why I bought the icecream maker last year.

I think I'll finish up the moose tracks I have in my freezer for dessert tonight. I'll be thinking of you as I'm eating it.

Damn you! Yell
Enjoy - and have a good evening!

We had a little more than I thought. There is enough moose tracks left for a small bowl that is available on a first come first serve basis. I'll be here until 5 pm my time except for when I go for a ride at lunch.

Oh that sounds tasty. A nice bowl of warm crisp with some vanilla ice cream.

Is there such a thing as bad ice cream?  I think not.  (which explains my belly)

well, in part it does.  I have many vices.

Well to me there is. As mentioned earlier I'm not a coffee fan so coffee ice cream is on my list to avoid. Although I did try some once that was tolerable.

Hi GCers,

Not been much help on the challenge the last few days, work just went into overdrive which it can do from time to time.  Then to compound it I'm off to see the doctor in the morning about a possible acchilles problem which might kill any future participation in the challengeCry

My achilles tendon started to irritate Tuesday night, by last night it started to pain walking down stairs and seems to be getting worse so have decided to not do the male thing and actually get to a doctor on this one.  My HIM curse might be continuing, I've paid for 5 of them now to only be able to race 1, and this one if I miss will be the first due to training related injury.

Take it easy. The last thing you want to do is end up blowing out your achilles.
