Only when you have your own personality, she has hers and you grow one together does it work. Yes: 1+1 = 3 in this case. 2-1 = fail.pitt83 - 2012-02-01 9:19 AM trinnas - 2012-02-01 9:02 AM wherever she tells us to! Seriously, some times you aquiesce, some times you demand. Just get the balance right and everyone is happy. You've got to know her and what she expects and wants and prioritize around that knowledge. Bachelor party for some dude you met once; no. Baseball game with your best buds; OK.Alright TAN guys I have a question for you. Where do guys draw the line between treating an SO well and being a puzzywhipped beotch? But what if what she wants is for you to give up being who you are so you can be who she wants you to be? That is what I always thought but then I was always pretty stubborn about being told what to do and who to be. Luckily my SO appreciates me for who I am in spite of the things I do to drive him nuts, I am his wild side. |

Where do guys draw the line between treating an SO well and being a puzzywhipped beotch? Depends more on how the SO treats the person. A guy can act the kind to a woman to accepts him and respects him and it's treating her well but if the SO walks over him and has no respect then he is a puzzywhipped beotch. I speak from experience as a former puzzywipped beotch. That is what I am trying to figure out really. I know he lets her do things I would never consider doing to my SO things that I think are wrong and some are flat out despicable but he just takes it and does what she wants. But just because i think it is wrong doesn't mean other people do. Most likely freak out she seems to thrive on drama when she isn't getting her way. Slamming doors and I won't talk to you and you don't love me sort of crap. She reached in his pocket and took his cell phone, when he took it back she went off like a rocket. I mean you reach in my pocket and take anything you will be lucky if you don't pull back a stump, you want something you ask. Sounds like she does not respect him. Controlling people seem to gravitate towards nice codependent people because a codependent person will give more then they expect in return. And how do I beotch slap my friend and make him cut it out. He is throwing everything away and he is too young to go down that road. |

The best you can do is be up front and honest with him and if he takes your advice, great. If not, then what else can you do? You can't save people from themselves. Sometimes someone isn't right for someone and everybody can see it except the person being hurt. That's just how it is. Frankly if you take a hard-line stance he'll cut you out long before he cuts her out. |

I just don't like to see my friends hurt and I really don't like to see them get what I consider to be abused. It is a mild form of emotional abuse but for me I thought it was my job to take it like a man and be a good SO no matter the request. If he is this kind of guy he will have to learn the lesion for himself like I did. It sucks and it's sad but your friends road started when he first took her on as an SO. Are they married? |
