Makes sense, you have to do what you feel is in your best interest, not the teams.  I would be mad too if they kit I got was different than what I expected and there was no communication about it.

So are you coaching yourself or pursuing other coaching prospects to coach you through the year?

Kelly,

Although we may not know all of the specifics behind the scenes, I certainly can side with you for the fact you work your tail off, are consistently marketing for QT2 and have been committed to them for 2 years.  Regardless of the fact you probably pay a hefty premium for their services, you should feel included in the plans of QT2, and not feel as just another paying customer. Let's hope they see it as a business deal and everyone can remian friends!!!!

I'm sure you are happy you have at least made a decision, and have already thought through where you may be going next. Please keep us posted.

Kelly - You have been an excellent spokesman for QT2.  I Hope you find another inspired coach to work with.

Question for the group - If you were in the last free week before beginning a 30 week IM program, the last 'free' unstructured week of the year, what would you do?

X2

Let your body recover from all the little micro injuries that have built up over time and take some R&R.  You're about to embark on a long journey and the best thing you can do it make sure you're at 100% when you begin.

I know why that's a bad idea, but why don't you explain to the group why that's a bad idea.

While yes they are pretty much impenetrable the rolling resistance on them isn't exactly optimal for race day.  Great training tires though.  I mentioned it and he said he just went into the bike shop and asked for something that will never be the cause of a flat, and that's what they gave him.  Lesson is that you always give the shop guys the context in which you will use the product.  I may go grab him some Contis or Pro Race3s as a thanks for letting me borrow the wheels.

I agree on the enjoy your week off!

Hey guys a quick question. I found a TACX cycle trainer on Craigslist for REALLY cheap! A family left it in storage when they changed duty stations to Europe and then bought another so they didn't need it anymore. Anybody know anything about them or know someone who has used them and what they think? It looks like it is the TACX Swing version btw.

I don't know how many of you follow ITU racing and qualification for the 2012 Olympics in London, but there's a rather interesting issue going on with the start list for the sand Diego ITU race (which has essentially become the Olympic Trials for the American Men).

Here's an artile about the issue:

http://www.slowtwitch.com/News/Olympic_Dreams_In_Peril_2697.html

Here's the slowtwitch post on it:

http://forum.slowtwitch.com/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=3874540;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25;

Someone screwed up big time, but I'm not sure if its USAT, ITU or the athletes.

The comments at the bottom of the article were interesting.  The whole situation seems like a cluster.  I'll have to read the ST post later.  I'm sure some of those folks had very kind words to say about this.

What everyone else said.  I would do some easy swims because I find swimming to be relaxing, and it seems to stretch out my muscles.  Short, easy runs and rides.  Get a massage.  Take a nap.  Prepare for the next 30 weeks of your life by putting in a little extra quality family time now.

I know they make some nice high end trainers.  Not sure about this one.

I found out some more information. It is a cycletrack. It is the older version that uses a switch that attaches to your handlebar to adjust resistance. It is only $15. I assume that is a good deal?

I'd take a flyer on it for $15

Yea I figure for $15 it is worth taking a chance based on the quality of TACX stuff. I will let everyone know how it goes. I just emailed to let them know I will take it. Thanks!!

AG winner seems to be in the 2:18-2:20 range every year.  Might be a bit fast for me.
