80 min on the treadmill. Put in 3 x 10 min hills @ 8%. That was fun.

I was looking at http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/fun,and I think that word does not mean what you think it means Laughing

Day 15 - commuted home on foot.  I had to run an extra block to make it an even 5k, after walking out from amongst the tall downtown buildings to let my watch see some satellites.  I'm now wondering why I spend $6 for transit or $20 for parking so often.

On a completely unrelated note, I should get around to putting the fenders on one bike to turn it into a proper commuter, and get the roadie's rear wheel trued so it can take its rightful place on the trainer for the winter.

Also, welcome back to the streaking thread, Claaaw, and congratulations on 70.3.  I've found your posts and blog to be a significant source of inspiration these past few months.

OK - so my streaking days are over...but I had to update everyone....  I hit a 3 mile PR tonight.  My splits were 7:09, 7:08, 7:00.  I sense a sub 7:00 mile in my near future!

It was a challenge, but the streak is intact.  Day 12 down.

Between work, waiting on line for gas, and just general dealing with the aftermath of the hurricane I had to be really creative to get all my runs in. I had to stick to mostly short neighborhood runs for safety reasons, there were no traffic lights, and downed trees and power lines.  I did get one long run in 2 days ago.  I convinced my wife that I could scout to see what was open and not have to burn gas.

Also, I had to run on the day of the hurricane, a few hours from the real peak of the storm.  Initially, I went out into a very strong headwind and stinging rain, and was just having fun.  But on the way back, I did get nervous because I started to see more flying debris and had a genuine fear that something was going to hit me in the back of the head.

I did underestimate the power of a storm like this.  I probably won't do that again.  I say probably, because I do have some vague plan of using body armor and a helmet.  I guess we will see how long this streak goes.

That's dedication!  Good work!

Day 17: my standard 5k route at easy pace.  I'm going to try to get an 18k long run in tomorrow in preparation for next weekend's half marathon, and use it to decide if my stretch goal of sub-2:00 is realistic.

My streak will end Wednesday at 0400hrs with 134 days. This will end an hour and a half before I walk into the hospital to have a torn meniscus repaired. My dr is a runner and thankfully understands my obsession. If rehab goes according to plan I'll be running the Fayetteville Half in December (fingers crossed) Great job to all of those who streaked!
