How many buttons, knobs, gears, handles, foot pedals, ??? does it take to work the thing? One for every direction - up, down, left, right, tilt forward, tilt back? The one I'll be using today: Knob and a footpedal for throttle. Left hand joystick (we'll see how that goes) that controls forward/backwards/turns. Also has the button for the transmission's gears. Right hand joystick that controls lift arm height and bucket/plow rotation. Has the switch that controls plow angle. The pushbox/plow I'll be using can be separated to use as either a pushbox or a plow. So far I have about 15 hours in these machines and I've only broken two hydraulic lines, and the skid itself once. Biggest problem for me is that my elbow is going to rest right on the safety harness (think roller-coaster style), and I have blind spots that keep me from seeing the edges of the pusher (which leads to things like clipping light poles). |
