Oh jeez. My first crit was tonight and I got OBLITERATED. They did start everyone together (Cat 5-1) so that probably didn't help, but oh man, I got dropped like a bad habit.

It's always good right at the first of the season to get one good beating in... keeps you hungry

These silly roadies and their "group" riding... jeez. In my sport we get punished for sucking wheel.

been wanting to try a crit.... getting dropped hard is always a huge motivator for me.  personally i can't wait for group rides to start back up again around here. needs to warm up....

looks like the sprint i was going to sign up for last minute this saturday is going to be a duathlon because the water temps are too cold.  wth, this is south carolina, this time last year i was in the lake swimming mile laps.

Alright! Knoxville half marathon this morning!

It also looks like I might be able to do the White Sands Triathlon in Panama City the 20th... if I can get the guy renting me my condo to let me come a night early without overcharging me.

Ran 8 miles Saturday morn with a group of guys.  I think I might stop running with them they are all about running not tri's and to tell you the truth they are kinda slowing me down.

My first race is T minus 13 days,  Drove the 25 mins to where it is,  It will be around this lake the loop is 3 miles exactly.  Ran the loop then biked the loop 3 times then ran again.

Times were

Run 22:38

bike 26:00

Run  22:28

Felt great,  the loop is has 130 ft of elevation gain in 3 miles. but overall I was happy with my results.  My wife gave me a couple GU's for easter so I decided to try one out.  So when I got back to my truck from my ride I took the GU and drank a little water and set off on the final run lap.  I know I really didnt need the GU but figured I should try it to see if it agrees with my stomach and such.

feeling much better for my 70.3 in june.  got in a few longer runs this weekend and got outside on the bike for a casual ride with a fellow BT'er... the 1100 feet i climbed in 2 miles was anything but casual though.

also ordered my two piece kit for the race, last year i only raced with a 1 piece, but i think a HIM has more opportunities for an "emergency" to arise.

GU ranges from pretty awesome to horrible. Yesterday at one of the aid stations I grabbed a GU and it turned out to be orange... yuck.

I loooovvvveee Peanut Butter GU though :P

You always want to run with guys faster than you (imo) not slower haha.

No worries, just let it go!

Just make sure the kit isn't white

Crit Race #2 for me last night.

I missed the last jump, but still managed to sprint my way into second place!

Not bad considering last week I didn't even finish with the group!

Smithy, that is a sweet ride.  I'm jealous of that thing big time.  What a great looking ride.  Where did you get the wheels?  I love my new bike, but I know sometime I'm going to want to upgrade the wheels to something similar to that.

Ok, I'm back.  House stuff has calmed down enough, work is what it is, heart attack inducing busy.  I finally went through the next month and worked out my training calendar so now I have things to check off as I go.  Sadly weekends are stacked this summer so I have to get creative in which tri's I can actually make it to.

Hi all, I know I've been a no show for a long time, haven't even had time to lurk so I'll be catching up on all your posts soon. I have been able to update all my workouts, minus the races that I was never able to catch on any kind of device, long story. Anyway here's the story, just as I was ramping up for the spring racing series we found out we were pregnant so needless to say the honey-do list was expanded exponentially and it was everything I could do to keep up. I got 4 races in though and learned a lot, like I said I'll try to spend time to relay that to you all soon. I won't be able to do the Clemson tri which should have been my A race but will try to do the Clemson Xterra this year which is in June, may give me enough time to get some training in and then there is a sprint tri in Kendallville, IN, my hometown at the end of July that I talked my little sister into doing so I think I'm going to have to do that also, support for her... Anyway, hope to be back for awhile now and to contribute as much as possible. Clempson, are we doing open water swims from the Y beach anytime soon?

We're doing laps at about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile each, so I'm not 100% sure. I got about 30 miles in Wednesday, and did the C and the B race, so I'd guess about 12 and 14 miles. (the C is 20 minutes + 5 laps and the B is 30 minutes + 5 laps)
