Thought this thread was interesting:

Essentially success at a race isn't the result of some 12, 16 0r 20 week plan, but rather cumulative, consistent training.

I agree x 10000.  You can manipulate your body to perform in many ways but accumulated fitness>>>>>training plan.  Now if you can get both to work in unison you're set.

Legs feel a bit dead.  I think most of it is the left over gunk I have in my chest from being sick.  Sucks to run when it feels like a sumo wrestler is sitting on your chest.  That said I HAVE to get a long run in this weekend.  I'm putting the ride in the shop because the shifting is going a bit wonky so no long ride this weekend.

settled my case today - other side folded up like a used box.  If they had settled a month ago they would have saved themselves about $50,000.00.  We were ready to start trial and they weren't.  Apparently they were counting on us being being afraid of trial.  Funny thing: I havent had a trial this year and really wanted to try the case as i was ready and motivated.  I asked my client if we could just spend a few hours trying the case just to torture the other side's lead lawyer who was obviously a total clown.  Oh well, client is happy.  time to go drink.

I think my next goal will be a HM in March.  Need to reload and remotivate!

Crazy busy with kids' activities lately.  December schedule is packed with activities!!!

My legs are really sore lately (prob from lifting & high intensity trainer sessions).  I really need to be more disciplined with the rolling and stretching.  Last night I was in bed at 9:00!  I came home from the gym and crawled in bed.  How lame is that???

Anyway, have fun running your 5k this weekend, Jeff & Rudy!  Have a great weekend, everyone.

Good luck Jeff and Rudy at the 5k this weekend.  I am doing a small, somehwat informal, local CycloCross event on Sunday.  They have a mountain bike class.  This will be following my saturday night where I host 50+ friends at my annual holiday party at home.  Not sure how my Sunday morning will go!! Have a great weekend.

Congrats!

I've been in "negotiations" with one of the landlords of the restaurant I'm trying to buy. I've given my final ultimatum and they have until 5pm Monday to accept or we walk. The landlord is being unreasonable, in my opinion, on some stuff and it's getting rather frustrating.

8am, 2 hr workout done, & I didn't run in the 15 degree weather!!!  The nice thing about working out inside ... you can get up whenever you want to workout!

Great workout, we will see how that fazes the 3 hr workout tomorrow!!

Also, is it me or as you add mileage you seem to add hot spots/blisters?  Every time I cover one area or toe in moleskins, another arises ... argh

The time running the more friction, the more blisters

Watched Kona today with the girls. Don't know what it is about Chrissie that they latched on to but they were chanting her name by the time the run started.

Shaun says I'm the Darth.  There are also dozens of Yodas and Boba Fetts.  All the cookies are baked.  I'll decorate them tomorrow.

Good (cold) run this morning.  Need to spend a little time on the trainer this afternoon and will be doing a little more super easy running with my friend Claudia.

About half way through with the cookie project.  Need to send Shaun out for more vanilla extract.
