The flu is running rampant at work and I get to go in just as soon as my kids get home from school. Lucky me. I'll be the lifeguard wearing the latex gloves and surgical mask. Will not be happy if I get this crud. Bring a can of Lysol. Threaten anyone who comes within 10 yards of you. BTW, did you know that some kinds of stomach virus can survive for several hours in a chlorinated pool? (Did that cheer you up?) |

I have a midday meeting... but that sound more like my yesterday... hand in there! And dont forget to eat.... Hey Cat, thanks! I actually did O.K., grabbed a quick bowl of chicken soup, an orange and some apple sauce. Pretty darn good for eating on the run. The work-place here is pretty progressive. They've got a fridge they keep stocked with fruits and veggies. They're trying to promote healthier snacking (since I do work for a food company). It's all on the house! It's great! That's really cool. I would love to have something like that. x2! although it's not free, my new company does have a very nice cafeteria with some good food choices, inlcuding a great salad bar it's pretty reasonable also Do they have nachos? lol i'm not sure - they have a new menu every week What about cheesecake? Can you get cheesecake there? LOL, can you imagine? A whole cafeteria full of people having cheesecake! |

In fact, a TV crew went to a local supermarket and asked why they didn't stock more "healthy fruits and vegetables." The store manager replied, "Because that's not what our customers buy." *sigh* But, on the bright side --> The store never runs out of Little Debbies! kaqphin - 2008-02-11 4:54 PM sparco - 2008-02-12 5:01 AM Morning Nibbs...it's 'kick my butt' day at work...in early...no lunch...then meetings (yuck!) until 4pm... Dee - where you live sounds like the non-Americans view of what it seems to be like in the USA based on a lot of the news reports we get! (not everything of course but...) |

It's those that are supposed to be watching it that are down for the count. A couple of them I just wonder if something better didn't come up or if they didn't feel like working. But one of them definitely had the real deal flu. Bleck. Now my cozy 9-12 shift tomorrow has turned into 9-2. And I'm getting there early so I can get my swim workout done and shower. Don't want to sit on the deck in a wet suit shivering for 5 hours. |

I wondered why I hadn't heard from him for a few weeks after our first two dates, but had forgotten that he literally works 2-3 weeks at a stretch, no days off, all day. He is such a nice boy. I feel completely at ease with him, like there is nothing I COULDN'T say, do, or be in front of him. |
