Should I call her tonight, or wait until tomorrow?

I can never remember the rule on that.

Sharkie - 2008-07-30 7:54 PM I do admit that making friends was REALLY hard for me outside of the bar scene and I'm still not great at it.. Friendships take time to develop and they will come in time.. Have you thought about hosting a BBQ or somekind of gathering?

I've tried the BBQ thing before, thinking about doing it again on Friday and inviting pretty much everyone I know here in the area. Just don't know if it'd be too early to invite new girl, or a bad idea to invite K (she's coming to the race on Saturday, I'm not sure why, but I guess she wants to show some support?) or if one group of friends would show up, but not the others, or if I'm just thinking about it too much, or what.

Well.. It's Wed.. So it's a little late unless you want it to be SUPER casual.. I bet a lot of people wouldn't show..

How does Next Friday look? And I think you could leave K off the list and invite the new girl

Next Friday looks like a drive to Chicago with K. I'm planning on dropping her and the bike at her house and going to see my friends in the city.

Edit: And it's me + BBQ I think both of those things are pretty well super casual.  I just don't know how comfortable I'd be with a girl I've not actually met around my friends.  Who knows what weird things could happen.

Dude, she's leaving in 3 weeks, right?  Call tonight. Say something like "I know I'm supposed to wait 3 days, but I know you're leaving soon, and...."

Sprint, if you race is on Saturday is BBQ on Friday not going to be too much stress?

Bcart, good luck with  whatever you decide.

Okay I have a meeting in like 4 minutes.  No one else is going to be on time, but that is besides the point.  I doubt many of you will be up when I get back, so have a good night.

Oh, mosquitoes suck. Bah.

Actually, I find grilling and cooking for people to be the opposite of stressful.  Enjoy your meeting.

Just in case this blows up for you like it would for me:

I disagree, you're not even single yet, right? And you've already had dates with 2 girls.  That's way better than me and I've been single for the past 26 years, give or take a few months.

I guess. One wasn't a date, just happened to be hanging out with a hot friend. The other, I think, needs to have a second "date" to be considered a success.

I have to give my friends most of the credit in all this, they're doing all of the work. I'm just showing up.

I like it, or I think I would like it in the right environment.  It wouldn't fit in my apartment, but I'm sure in a decorated house it would look nice.

Yes, nice couch, but it doesn't look like one of those comfy "everyday" kind of couches, more like the "formal family room" kind of couch.

Then it should do well as long as it fits the scheme of the room.

I woulda said "Screenin' my calls, huh? I see how you are. Well guess what... now I'm going to call 150 times a day until you answer!!!!" and hung up.

Or that fake d'bag message that was circulating last week...

Nah, I was cool, calm, and collected.
