I will be trying it for the first time tomorrow.  I will post a review.

Recovery and Technique is 45 minutes long.  I know it has some one leg pedaling drills and some high cadence spin sets.

One hour walk today, bike indoors will be tomorrow.

I can't do much because of the 6 inches of snow that Buddaha mentioned. I live in Raleigh, NC and the snow is finally melting. It's time to get going again. I hope you all are doing well.

I tried the Big Gear Strength Spinerval last night---OUCH!  I pedaled with two legs during the sets with single leg drills in the BCR and 12 cog.  How the heck does anyone pedal with one leg in that gear?

If anyone is interested in a review, I have the following Spinervals:

2.0 Sweating Buckets 50 minutes
5.0 Mental Toughness 90 minutes
8.0 Recovery and Technique 45 minutes
9.0 Have Mercy 120 minutes
11.0 Big Gear Strength 55 minutes
13.0 Tough Love 3 hours
16.0 Aero Base Builder I  80 minutes
17.0 Aero Base Builder II 75 minutes
18.0 Aero Base Builder III 70 minutes
24.0 Hillacious 60 minutes
25.0 Aero Base Builder V 120 minutes
Virtual Training Ride 1.0   60 minutes

These are a nice change of pace for getting some good "coached" training sessions on your trainer.  You can do the whole workout or pick and choose certain sets.  He recommends specific gearing during the sets but you can always adjust to your ability/conditioning.  The website has specific information and some previews of the DVDs.

holy smokes- I dont think Id use all those all year

Joe Runner - 2009-01-21 2:59 PM week 2, day 2 of pushups.  I'm such a whimp.  13 in a row knocked me out.  interested to see if this really works. .

It's definitely working here - I did my week 5, day1 last night and just realised in total I did 130 and the sets are definitely getting easier - although I've just noticed that it means I've only got 5 more sessions and I've to get from a current max of about 45 to double that!! (gulp!Surprised)

On a different note: is everyone Obama'ed out yet? Our tv news is implying that every American is having a week's celebration (I'm assuming that's standard tabloid exageration?!Wink)

Yes - the whole nation is off work and walking around in a drunken stupor.....

Well...I finally came up with a training plan for myself!

M: swim and run T: bike W: swim and run TR: off F: swim and bike S: LSR S: bike

I will try to maintain to this schedule to the best of my ability. I know I there will be days I can't get both done, but I will try. It all depends upon meetings and so forth.

Um, I just checked my calendar and have fallen short on my abs 5xweek by 1 day each.  I could swear I was making a conscious effort at doing it 5x.  Oh well, at least I didn't drop the ball completely.

Well, I'm not going to hit my weight loss goal for the month BUT I am hitting the more important goal of making exercise a habit. I now feel guilty if I don't get a scheduled work out in but it is still a bit too easy for me to push it off for something else. I just feel guilty abouot it when I do

I am  sitting here trying to work out a training plan for myself for triple T.  Making sure I inlude my rest weeks  This is such a weird race that it is hard to figure out what I really need to be doing- besides a lot!

Thinking I may try to drop 5 pounds to for race season too.

30 minutes on the bike this evening doing intervals. Darn that felt good. After the walk yesterday.

I need to hit the pool, but I also need a suit.

BTW, found an awesome spinning thingy on iTunes.

cadence revolution.

Also available on the web at www.cadencerevolution.com

It has a 10 minute warmup, about 40 minutes of cardio workout, and about 8 minutes of cool down. All in music, 99% talk free.

I just did my first workout with it and the music seems to be paced appropriately.

Can you explain how that race works? I read about it, but don't get it at all??? Sounds really strange.

Kara! Thanks for that info on the spinning podcast. I wish there were more of them out there!!

TTT is kind of weird.  On Friday afternoon there is a sprint tri...close to a supersprint.  Saturday morning is an olympic tri, saturday afternoon there is another olympic distance only it is bike/swim/run.  Sunday is a HIM  The water is cool- the course is wayhilly and the run is tough.  sounds fun huh?  You can do it solo or with a partner.  I am doing it with mutri from this site.  We both have to do everything- we just have to finish together- he is a much stronger biker then me- but I am allowed to draft off him!  I actually think we have a good shot at placing in the coed division!

So once I am recovered from this marathon- I need to hit the bike- hard.

Im hoping IMWI is a walk in the park after this

does it take you 45 minutes to walk the 5K?

A lot of people use the galloway method when they are doing a amarathon or half..... it is the run walk method.  Figure out what works for you- maybe run 1 minutes walk 2 minutes......

I have faith in you- I think you will be fine!!
