Afternoon team.  Pretty much wrapped the basement clean out process.  Time to relax until 9:00pm tonight when my buddy shows up with his dump trailer and the driveway gets cleared out.  Glad we are not packrats and now we are even less of packrats.

My DW asked if I would rather be cleaning out the basement or sitting around work and I told her she would not understand but I much preferred the physical work of cleaning out the basement.  She just laughed.

Football practice with a 4 mile run thrown in then tomorrow it is back on the bike - yeah!

Got a great nap in also - which  was awesome - I love naps - I think they should be required by law daily!

suweeeeeeeeeeeeet - does that mean you are volunteering to come and help me clean my garage out!? sounds like you are a pro and I could use that now! I am trying to simplify and have been making huge progress in the house....now its time for the garage! problem is...its JAM PACKED FULL! can I borrow your friends trailer to make some hauls to the garbage and to goodwill????

i try to think Im not a pakrat...but if you saw my garage...youd think otherwise...time to clean it out!

I missed my calling in life - those clutter free shows - I would rule on that.  Sure I will come out and help but be ready for some harshness about the packratting .  They way I see it is if it is not used in 6 months-1 year (decorations besides) then why keep it.  Now all I need to do is sell some tools that I have laying around and buy a new bike workshop set up and I will be all set!

i missed my calling too, BILL.

im the declutter queen.  i love it!

you and me.

a declutter-off.

BRING IT ON!

a new bike workshop, schweet.

when you got it all set up, can i bring my bike in, the gears been slippin just a tad and i need these new aerobars installed....

enjoy the pool......

Came in to work early because we were going to do a 40 mile ride this morning but it's raining. Hopefully it will clear up and I can ride later.

So right after I posted that, everyone comes in and no one wants to be the one that says let's not ride. Welcome to our Alpha Male world. It took us 2H 22M to do 40 miles. Luckily, the rain was light so it wasn't as bad as I expected. Actually felt comfortable compared to the heat wave we've been riding in lately.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Boz,

Do you work at a shop or somewhere where a bunch of guys ride anyways?

I wish I was in that situation - sounds like good motivation!

I'm in the Army (21 years now). I'm in a unit where everything is a competition. Seven of us signed up for a Century race on Labor Day so we've been trying to ride as much as we can in order to get ready. When we're not deployed we train our behinds off trying to get ready for the next deployment. It does make it difficult staying in racing shape only being able to train intermittently.

MOUNT ALPACA IS CONQUERED.

15.6 mile ride complete.

VACATION commences in Tminus 31 hours, 7 minutes.

stacieb

good job Stacie...how was Alpaca?

MT. ALPACA had NOTHING on me.

i guess mentally i had conjured up this HUMONGOUS hill that by the time we got there, i thought, gee, THIS is Mt. Alpaca.

it was a burner dont get me wrong

and it came EARLY in the ride the so that helped.

but suffice is to say, there was NO need to swipe an Alpaca to hitch him to my bike to pull me up the hill.

i climbed just fine on my own thank you very much.

stacieb

durn...now what am I to do with this alpaca I got for you!? sure you dont want him??? good job getting to the top of that hill! time to hit mt everest, girl!

impressive...I am a chicken to ride roads when wet...this is coming from a downhill mtn bike racer! haha...something about skinny slick tires and wet paint stripes that really skkkkeeeeeares me! now running in the rain is a whole different thing...I love running in the rain...LOVE IT! just no thunder or lightning...although Im sure that would get me running a much faster time!

thanks John for all you do to keep us safe here! VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

thats great that you have a group of guys who agreed to train. love the alpha male comment too! at least you made a decision....we would still be there trying to make one if it were a bunch of my gal friends!

have a nice dry day...and send some rain this way...we sure could use some!!! and it will help me with my HM training.

Hi all...so I have like 10 pages to catch up to, but I'll go ahead and post a quick update.  I too did my race (and yes race report is up).  I GUESS I was ok with my race.  I finished and my time wasn't TERRIBLE compared to my first and only other race.  I've been busy with work and boys lately Tongue out - it's been tiring!

One win from this race is that I actually feel like training after.  I still don't have a solid base - that I'm ok with - and I have motivation to work on it!  Which is good for the challenge :-)  I do believe that will be my last tri for the season - but I found a duathlon the middle-ish of next month that looks like it would be a good "change" of pace...

I also started doing weights again yesterday - - - GO ME!!

Well if you need help with the bikes - let me know - never too many of those.  Those Salsa frames sound like fun - BTW I am 5'10" with 32" inseam if that fits either of those

Now for the vintage clothing - have a sell off - you can probably score some sick $$ for that in your area!

ok...you come help me with my sell of vintage clothing and the custom salsa frame is yours...I am 5'7ish" so not sure it would fit you....my husband just built a single speed mtn bike from a vintage specialized bike...he the letters iz out of the word specialized and he is now on his custom... special ed bike! tee hee

Cool - well thanks for serving.

I understand the deployment - 8 years in the Navy so submarine based training is pretty non-existent!

Great that you have some competition close by!

Bill, I didn't know you were a bubble head!!!  My hubby is the A-Gang chief on the Philly.  Well, he was till he screwed up his shoulder.  Now he's on limited duty and awaiting his next boat.  Where were you stationed?  What boats??
