rnihill - 2010-10-13 7:26 PM All this talk of food...  now I'm starving even though I've been eating all day.  I might have to dive into the pear crisp we made last night.

Oh that sounds tasty. A nice bowl of warm crisp with some vanilla ice cream.

Oh......  I was doing so well avoiding the pear crisp but now I want a 2nd breakfast!  Yell  the dangers of working from home...

So did you watch Friday the 13th last night and are now paying the consequences? At home. Alone. All by yourself.

mbasta - 2010-10-14 7:01 AM Oh I forgot to mention after revealing my not so great lunch and dinner choices that I had a great (yummy and healthy) breakfast yesterday.

REAL slow cook oatmeal, sunflower seeds, golden raisens, and chopped dried apricots - all cooked together.

I can never eat the pre-package oatmeal again.

Now you're making me hungry.  That sounds tasty, except for the apricots. Not a dried fruit fan or an apricot fan.

mbasta - 2010-10-14 7:09 AM This morning I think I'm going to do my mixed berry variation of oatmeal...

2/3 cup oatmeal, 300ml water, 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries, 1 tbsp honey.

(From an earlier discussion, here's evidence of me using metric and imperial to suit my needs.)

Now this one definitely sounds tasty. Except that sounds like your getting too any measuring things dirty.I usually just use the 1/3 cup, twice for oatmeal, once for water, once for berries and squeeze out the honey until it looks about right. Since I'm the one that usually does the dishes, I like to dirty as little as possible.

mbasta - 2010-10-14 7:23 AM I'm starting to feel all talk no action since I had to give up my Tuesday run.

I'm off to do a gentle 5km and hopefully have no objections from my foot. I will run as slow as I have to - just as long as I can get out there and get some km's in!

Take it easy and enjoy the run.

Oh good.  We're talking about food again.

I *heart* oatmeal, especially now that the weather is starting to cool.  My favorite is to simply add brown sugar and cinnamon.  Honey and raisins are also a nice addition.

Hope everyone has a fab day.  I'm getting ready to head to work for a little overtime.  *blech*  On the plus side, it should pay for the HIM that I'm going to sign up for.

Later Gators!

Overtime would be nice. I've been ineligible for overtime since 1990.

Good morning Paul! I don't actually measure those things except for the oats and water. I know approx what they look like and throw them in. I agree with dish waste!

I'm going to have to sign off for a little while. I have to restart so I can sign on through a secure connection for a special project request I got this morning. Hopefully it won't take very long.

The only time a movie ever bugged me was when I was eating while watching Poltergeist. You remember the scene when the steak crawled across the counter and then the guy pulled the skin off his face. Other than that, it doesn't bug me. The first time I watched Exorcist was at home all by myself sitting right in front of the tv with all the lights off. The last scary movie we watched was The Others (was it supposed to be scary?) My wife doesn't like scary.

Yes it is. Stupid doesn't change. Its really hard sometimes to not get angry though. Especially when its me being stupid.

I used to love scary.  But now I just don't like scary when I'm home alone.

The most scared I have ever been was several years ago when my DH and I were watching that movie with Mel Gibson about the aliens invading, or something like that.  I can't remember the name.  It was snowing outside and we were at this really creepy part and all of a sudden there was a HUGE crash right outside the back door.  The weight of the snow had caused the roof over our back steps to crash down.  Fortunately we were only renting...  but it scared the living daylights out of us!

Good morning POSTING MACHINES!
Heading to the gym in about 15 minutes for a spin class.  I'm still a little behind on goals, but have grand plans to make it up (and then some) over the next couple of weeks.
