If someone DID rob me, they would get nothing.  I rarely carry cash, and if I do, it's always less than $20.  They would get all my credit cards, but I would have them canceled before they even had time to use them.

Our office hit a big dealine today, so the boss is taking us out to go see Batman this afternoon and maybe a drink or two.

See, I agree with that.  Things like that don't cost thousands of dollars (like a holiday party) but are great for moral.

When I was "the boss" I'd do stuff like that for my people (there were only 11 of us) all the time.  Order in a fancy lunch on the weeks we were crazy busy.  Or have their cars detailed by one of those mobile services that come to the office.  Get each person a gift card to their favorite restaurant.  One year when we did really well we bought everyone a round trip plane ticket to go visit family or friends and gave them a few extra paid vacation days to use it.  Little things ..

Wow those are not what I'd call 'little' things!
If we go way above and beyond, every once in awhile, we will get 2 movie tickets to the local theater. $20 value. Woot Woot. I wonder if I have to claim that on my taxes.

Oh once I got a $5 voucher to the company cafeteria. Shwing!

I agree, none of that is LITTLE!  I would occasionally get a $25 to $50 visa card.  i would KILL for an extra paid day off, with or without the plane tickets.  Now that I work for a publicly traded company again, I doubt I'll see any "little" things.

It's not about the publicly traded, I work for a non-profit cancer center, we don"t get jack.   Well Ok that's not true we get a $25 giftcard for xmas.

We were a small shop .. my ex and I started the business in our dining room.  Grew quickly, acquired a lot of wonderful employees that helped us grow our business into one of the most successful of it's kind in town.  They worked hard.  THEY made the business successful.  Without their hard work and exceptional work ethic we would not have risen to the top!  I was making a ton of money because of them.  So no big deal if I could not pay myself as much from time to time and give it back to the them for a job well done!  Without them I wouldn't have success or a paycheck!

My office manager had a family emergency so she took a week off and I did her job.  When she returned I told her I needed to talk to her .. she started crying.  She thought I was going to fire her or yell at her about something I didn't like about the way she ran the office .. I calmed her down and told her that I wanted to give her a big raise because after doing her job and seeing what crap she has to put up with from the clients and how organized and detailed she had to be .. I felt she wasn't making nearly enough money to do so!

Nice!!!!  You need anybody to do flow cytometry?  I am also pretty good at  lab bench.

On the flip side, few employees recognize what I (or boss go through a lot of times).

I protect them a LOT from clients and mistakes.  They make the mistakes, but I take the heat from them and have to do the damage control and take it from the client.

GRANTED, I speak to them afterwards and it IS part my fault for not catching their mistake in the first place - but I don't dish it out NEARLY as bad as I get it from a client when we cost them 10k..

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH yeah right.  again.  that's not normal.  the last few guys i've worked for wouldn't even HESITATE to throw my a$5 under the bus if something happened, even when it was their fault that i didn't have the tools/resources i needed to prevent the error in the first place.

Dude, you must have devoted some serious time to it...  Granted if you do normal or easy, it IS pretty quick.  I can get through the whole story in a couple hours now that I know the secrets (on normal).  Difficult still requires several attemps (if not dozens) to get by some of the more difficult bosses.

Did you like it?  I'm half way through 3 but haven't played it for a long time.

OH, and I'm a "completionist".  I get all the treasures and like to get all the trophies and accomplishments.

Oh, and uncharted multiplayer is really fun - especially the co-op.  I don't feel quite like cannon fodder like I do in Call of Duty and the other FPSers.

I'm in the mood to start gaming again.  I have SO MANY brand new games just sitting there in the wrappers still.

Madden 13, Golf 13, Skyrim, Unchartered 3, Assassin's creed Revelations (and they are ALREADY coming out with a new one based in America, which could be cool!), Mass Effect 3, LA Noire - PLUS all the old games I just like to play.

I will be glad when TdF is over because that takes a lot of time.  And now I have hours and hours of the British open to catch up on.  I might delete that and just watch the weekend.

Ok, something that's been sort of hard to figure out.  And I KNOW it's stupid to even worry about it, but I do.

My cousin is physically dissabled which has kept him from a lot of social situations because he pretty much has to stay at home and be taken care of by his parents.  He is probably 35 now...

Anyway, he LOVES words with friends and wants to play me all the time.  Which is fine BUT, I'm not sure if it's his social skill of not being competitive or if he doesn't understand games, but he is terrible.  He knows words, but has NO strategy.  Gives me triple word scores left and right, could play the same word in different areas and score 40, instead of 4, etc.

I don't even try, and get a 100 point lead after about 4 moves and end up winning by 300-400.  I even challenged myself to ONLY play 2-3 letter words and STILL kill him.  Or play only off the word he just played, it's no fun winning every single time, but he keeps requesting me.

What made me feel worse is he sent me a text saying I LOVE THIS AWESOME GAME!!!!!

So, I just play and win.  I give about 2 seconds thought a move.  Just play a word.  I don't try to get a ton of points and I don't try to throw it either...

Thoughts?

I'm thinking about asking if he even knows what DW TW DL TL squares even mean cuz he seems like he doesn't.
