Good morning, TAN.

We are having a blizzard (and not the good DQ kind, either).  Just got back in after 2 hours of snowblowing (taking a chance with that phrase and cringing knowing that Cord will fix it).  My fingers are frozen and it's a little difficult to type right now.  Good news, I feel happier singing and whistling "Walking In A Winter Wonderland".

We're having one of those too.  Closed the schools and everything.  So far we've had 3/4" rain.

Morning, Sprint!

You got missed.  It's sweeping up at us and looks like it'll get worse.  Go out and ride!

It's meant to start snowing here at 2.  I'll be enjoying my SUPER long day at work today.  Get to re-learn how to drive a skid-steer tonight to clear snow from the local movie theater and 4 strip malls.

Lucky dawg getting to play with big boy toys!  Just don't take out any lightposts or abandoned parked cars.

Interesting luck.  So far I've only broken it once...and that was just trying to figure out how everything works.

Never worked one.  How many buttons, knobs, gears, handles, foot pedals, ??? does it take to work the thing?  One for every direction - up, down, left, right, tilt forward, tilt back?

The one I'll be using today: Knob and a footpedal for throttle.  Left hand joystick (we'll see how that goes) that controls forward/backwards/turns.  Also has the button for the transmission's gears.   Right hand joystick that controls lift arm height and bucket/plow rotation.  Has the switch that controls plow angle.  The pushbox/plow I'll be using can be separated to use as either a pushbox or a plow.

So far I have about 15 hours in these machines and I've only broken two hydraulic lines, and the skid itself once.  Biggest problem for me is that my elbow is going to rest right on the safety harness (think roller-coaster style), and I have blind spots that keep me from seeing the edges of the pusher (which leads to things like clipping light poles).

Hmmmmm, definitely requires a little bit of training.  And, someone to be alert and had enough sleep, or at least be sober.

See this is why I miss snow!!  So much fun to play in in motorized vehicles!

I think it was because he stated "knob" and "joystick" and it got you all hot and bothered.

I'm the "most experienced" operator "we" have.  My guys from the shop all got a 5 minute rundown on how the controls work.  One of them will be driving it tonight.  The last of the businesses we plow (bars) won't be closing until after 2am.

Well it would make it faster to just melt the snow.

It has been ages since I drove anything that was a skid steer.  I would probably hit a building.

Well, my wife needs to work from home today and needs to get on the 'puter, which means that I'll get kicked off here in a couple of minutes.

Be good, y'all!  Enjoy the festiveness of this season (noticed Teejaay that I didn't say Christmas, or Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, or whatever holiday du jour??  Huh??  I was a good boy!! )

May your days, be merry (not Mary), and briiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!

And to end that oddness with TOPpage - priceless.
