What are we riding on Sunday? I would like to propose a flat route. Perhaps a little Tour de Gilbert or something.  Anyone up for that?  Like 9ish?

I know you guys are out East, but I was thinking of looking for some route to ride to the Super Bowl - - just to check it out.  Just a thought...

Are you on crack Fitzy????  Hmmmm....let me find the most heavily traffic-ed route to ride my bike on so I can mingle with cars packed with people all spazzed out about going to the game, and are more likely than ever to be NOT paying attention to the road.

Just sayin!

I am in for something flat. 30-40 miles tops. Action-packed weekend ahead for me.

I think you're confused...this is the Super Bowl (Real Football) not the Gray Cup (Girlie Football).

I'll avoid the roads - - the Grand Canal goes all the way there from Central Phx.

I think you're confused...this is the Super Bowl (Real Football) not the Gray Cup (Girlie Football).

It's called the GREY Cup...it's named after a person...not a color (GRAY).

Super Bowl = 4-hour commerical with some football mixed in

Grey Cup = Real football, played by real men, outdoors, in the cold...like football is meant to be played. Oh, and Our Balls Are Bigger!

Gray or Grey - it's still Girlieball.

We should be seeing Harry's police lights any time now...

The Sporty Bots and Chris will be up the hill, so Harry....what say you for the east siders?  (I know you will want to do some mammoth thing that the rest of us will not want to do.....so perhaps you can join us for the start of your madness).

I'm definitely in for whatever you're doing plus 3-4hours and a short run

I have 6 hours and short recovery run on the schedule for Sunday (preferably before the chance of rain and 25mph wind gusts goes up just in time for the game). Flat is good. Loops are good. East siiiieeed is good.

The rain's gonna be a gamble, but the latest says 30% chance from the morning into the early afternoon, then it ups to a near certainty in the late afternoon. If we're done by 2 it should be ok.

Ok....I'll throw this out....  Ready to ride @ 9:30am  (trying to find middle ground if Paulette can make it) meeting at the Riparian Preserve just east of the Southeast Regional Library on the SE corner of Guadalupe and Greenfield.  (We have met there before).  We can do loops of Tour de Gilbert.

What say ye?

I may be up for some of this action. How long is the Tour de Gilbert? I'm still a newbie at the bike.

The Tour de Gilbert is about 26 miles.  Scroll down on this page to find it. http://web.mac.com/j.donahue/ESCKTC/Bike.html  (We are meeting at meeting point 1 on this page).

Yes Paulette, the canal is right there to run on, and there are bathrooms.

Sounds good. I'll be there for 9:30. I may only do 3 loops since I added a little extra today in case it rained tomorrow.

I'll make a decision in the morning. I want to see how the weather is doing. I really need to get a run in and of course I always have studying to do now. So, I just have to decide if I can get a loop in and a run without spending all day outside.

I'll probably have to do something down by my house to manage to
spend some time with the family.

We'll just have to bike next week in Laveen.
