Mornin' Nibbs...

Got up early and came to work to swim... then grabbed McD breakfast (haven't had grease in quite a while)....

It's a quiet morning... though I do have lots to do...

Have I mentioned that an Egg McMuffin is my all-time favorite pre-race food (3 hours before race)? Have never had any gut issues. Plus it's a good mix of carbohydrates, protein and fat...(says the guy that's involved with health initiatives and promotion as part of his job...

Afternoon Nibbs. Solid meetings from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Have a quick break between meetings...

I like the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit, but I don't think I could eat that for pre-race food.  So greasy.

kns57 - 2008-07-29 8:36 AM Okay, now for my rant. Baseball game last night was good. One problem. The couple that we had invited to go with us did not show. There we are sitting at home wondering when they would get there. Supposed to be at our house at 6pm. At 6:15 pm Frank calls the guy. "Hey where are you?" "On my way to the Y." "Um, we're supposed to go to the Braves game tonight." "Yeah, that's on Monday, right?" "Yeah, Today is Monday." "It is? Well, I'm going to the Y." So, needless to say we went to the game without them (Those tickets that weren't used were $52 each and we could have invited other people to join us if they weren't going to really go with us). Thing that really bugs me is this guy has now done this to us several times in the past 18 months. First time was Franks birthday. Wife shows up without hubby. Frank calls him and he is at the Y. I feel like this has happened for everything we have tried to do as couples for the last 18 months. These are people who have gone to Mexico with us 3 times for vacation so it's not like we are just trying to get to know each other as couples. I told Frank that I am done. I don't want to even try to do anything with this guy any longer. Told him he can still be friends and do lunch, etc. But the couple thing is over. Am I just being a beeatch?

not at all!  that's just plain rude

is he married to pizza lady? LOL

Good one Beth. Fortunately his wife is a really nice ditzy person.

Think good things and good things happen!

you are right!

so what are you up to today?

Acting like I want to be at work.  Our company authorized comp time for the rest of the summer so I am going to work 4 10 hour days and take Friday & Monday off every other week for 4 day weekends.

It will be a long day at work, but to not be here Friday & Monday makes it worth it.

Had to leave at 5:30 am on the bike this morning.  Needed my lights because it was still a little dark.  Wasn't too happy about that, but oh well!

I wish I was in your shoes leaving on vacation again, but hey work is not fun it is required right?

that would be worth it!  my company is doing something similar - I haven't taken advantage of it since my schedule is pretty weird to begin with

next year

kns57 - 2008-07-29 8:44 AM Yeah, the Braves lost, but since I'm not a big fan of baseball (or football, or basketball, you get the drift) I didn't really care who won or lost. The Cardinals really played well, and the Braves just didn't. It has also been so long since I've been to a game (4 or 5 years) that I only knew one name of the Braves players. All the others I did not know. But it sure is fun to go and enjoy the whole atmosphere. We even snuck into the club deck because that was the only deck that had calzones. Being a veggie, the hotdogs and hamburgers weren't going to cut it for me and I didn't want to just eat popcorn, peanuts and stadium nachos. the club deck has a whole bunch of TV's all over so you can't miss any part of the game even if you were trying to. Even the elevators have a tv showing the game. hysterical.

But the BIG question is.... did you check out the playground???

We've noticed that the MLB stadiums are all putting in playgrounds for the kids... Arizona's is WAY cool!!!!

Yep, I think our family vacations will now revolve around going to an MLB game

Yep.  It's definitely all about the the product off the field now.  They've even got big arcades and stuff where kids can go play XBox and stuff during the games.  Kind of defeats the purpose, but I guess whatever sells tickets.

You THINK it defeats the purpose until you bring a 2 yr old and 5 yr old!!!!!

Point taken  I just hope when the day arrives that I have a teenage son, he's not wanting to go play whatever the new gaming system is in some arcade at a ball park.

I'm a bit different, though.  I practically grew up behind the outfield fence watching Miss. State baseball.  You probably understand that, Heather.

uh..... no.... I grew up at football games.... season tickets in South Endzone of Tiger Stadium!!!! (except for two years... one, we scored 45 yd liners and two, well mom was fed-up of all the drunks in the south endzone so dad was finally able to get our seats moved to northeast endzone my last year sitting with them)

HOWEVER... given history of LSU and baseball... I do appreciate a good game.... matters fact looks like we might be bringing boys to AAA game tonight... The NO Zephyrs are in town

Had to be a meany in my meeting this afternoon and tell my management team something was not optional, but expected. They have avoided doing it for 7 month and I had to get mean. I did not like that, but don't put me in that position.

We used to ski every summer in Florida. You had to watch out for the seacows in the canals.
