she sounded soooo iffy in her message....

kinda 'scared' me in the sense that i would have done all this rearranging only for her to back out at the last minute, or only do part of the run with me....

suckish.  from every angle.

speaking of which im gonna get my sh^t together and get out there while the sun is peeking out from the clouds and the wind isnt blowing and the rain isnt falling.

HAPPY TRAINING EVERYONE!

GHOULIE QUESTION.

serious one.

and i dont want you to blow smoke up my wazoooo, and im not 'fishing' for compliments...i really really want/need to know.

you all know me in a limited way/context, but....

would you pay me a reasonable fee (this is hypothetically speaking) to be your LIFE/WELLNESS COACH?  [let me add, since i read BILLs first response....this is in a general life/wellness sense, not fitness-related, though it could be....]

in other words, do you think that i have what it takes to support/encourage/facilitate people as they go about setting goals and making changes in their lives?

seriously.

i wanna/need to know, if you see that 'in' me or not.

skrtrnr - 2009-12-08 5:18 PM i did absolutely nothing TRI/TRNG related today.

i had my favorite dish at the Cheesecake Factory - Thai Lettuce Wraps - finished up with Red Velvet Cheesecake.  oh yummmmo.

then, it was just an uber nice day.

nothing in partictular to do & nowhere in particular to be except where i wanted to be when i wanted to be there with people that i really enjoyed being with.

just nice.
stacieb

Stacie you took a well deserved rest day! THAT IS ENTIRELY TRI RELATED!!!

yay.  come to think of it ANN, your right.

and i got to sit across a table from Mr. Expensive leather Shoes.

wanna know the first thing that came out of my mouth, after i gave him a hug and said hello.

'you smell sooo good'

he did too.  smell good.

now who's the DORKFACE?  Embarassed

to which he responded, 'yay.  im freshly bathed' with a wink.

chuckle.

so.  yes.  well deserved rest day.  TOTALLY tri related.  Innocent

yep.

thats my story and im sticking to it!
stacieb

skrtrnr - 2009-12-09 8:22 AM ok.  my friend that im supposed to run with today called.

i didnt hear my phone ring.

wtFLIP??

and she said that she wanted to still run (BAH!) but that she wasnt sure 'how far' she could go....

and then i thought, im changing a doctors appt/rearranging my schedule to run with you and your not sure you gonna run the entire time?

and ive been watching the weather report....i dont think she knows how sucktastic its supposed to get later on today, about the time were scheduled to run.

so im thinking screw that.

but theres a part of me that feels guilty too.....

i called, left her a message (she works night turn...so she's going right to bed...) that i wouldnt be able to meet her today...

im just gonna go out and run by myself.

i want/need to get this run in, the whole distance and w the chance that she'll back out when she sees how crappy the weather is when we were 'supposed' to meet, im thinking she'll back out anyways....

... i was going up to meet her/in her area to run.  i just dont want to get dumped to run the final whatever by myself.

i guess im just not good a being flexible with these sorts of things, w/ people.

i admit it.

this is why.  i prefer.  to train alone.
stacieb

You did the right thing. Chances are she would have bailed anyway.

I do my training by myself for reasons like this. I have no problem though going for a leisurely bike ride, or jogging with someone if they want me to go with them. Then I go at whatever pace and distance that is comfortable for them.

wgraves7582 - 2009-12-09 7:22 AM BTW - The ice box was not cold last night.  I came home, got a haircut from her and kept all body parts, went for a bike ride (2 hours), came home and we ate a snack together and I told her I was sorry for snapping at her in front of her friends.

Sorry Ann I did not take full advice - the bike ride wiped me out so I crashed Innocent

I'm just shaking my head Bill. Where are your priorities?

Ann, how many times can your ride your bike on dry roads and fairly comfortable temperatures in December in Buffalo??????

The other thing is always available.

Always?

Yeah, I'm with Robin on this one, ALWAYS?

he's a man.

its ALWAYS..

cept for BILL....after a long, arduous bike rides....which, from what i can tell....

is about like....

EVERYDAY.

stacieb

Not everyday but yesterday I was woken up from a great sleep at 3:00am by someone making loud noises while she was asleep so it was a long day just from that point of view.

By the time I hit bed and read 1 chapter from the book I am reading now I was wiped out and crashed big time.

I had aspirations for make up, but maybe I will get her mad at me again today and we can do make up tonight! Cool

you be a silly silly man mr graves.

wgraves7582 - 2009-12-09 8:26 AM Stacie you are too funny - the smell comment.

That is why I train solo most of the time also - not many of my friends care to ride bikes for 2 hours on a Tuesday night in December.

I don't know why?

I would go.

Here is my dream job - going around to all the local establishments that hire teenagers and doing a course on how to act like you are alive while providing customer service to these places customers!

It drives me crazy when I hit the market, store, wherever and these kids act like sorry I don't have the ability to talk - only text - so please text me your question so I don't have to speak with you.  I tell my kids that if they ever act like that while I am around them working I will personally fire them for the store, bring them home, kick their a$$, take their phone away, and put them to work in the worst job ever.

Alright I feel better.  Thanks for listening!

I agree. Once you've conquered the teenage world you could expand to all customer service areas. I can't tell you how many times I've been places and ask for help and people act like they don't want to be bothered. I'm sorry this is your job, but you are getting paid for it. When I was in Japan they would bend over backwards to help you. If you asked for something they didn't carry they would find out who did carry it and send you there. Why can't people be like that here?

disturbed275 - 2009-12-09 3:57 AM Good morning ghoulies!

I woke up today fully intending to go into work.  Got down to the front door and found a 5 foot tall snowdrift blocking me in.  I managed to push the door open far enough to squeeze out, climbed over the drift and then saw how bad of shape the parking lot was in.  I'm not getting out till they plow.  It's still snowing and blowing something fierce.  Back to bed I guess!

That had to be a shocker.  Hope you have plenty of food laid in.

Enjoy your unexpected time off!
