kcarroll - 2010-07-23 3:51 PM Hi Ghouls.  Shawn and Marla, glad you found us.  Well, I just had a monster fitting at the LBS.  It was 4 hours long.  Holy g'moly!  I did enough hard pedaling over the afternoon that I'm thinking I should load some miles into my log.  Cool In addition to adding my Profile GT Jammers, we shortened and raised the stem, played with the seat, new pedals (Tom I have some blue women's keo's that need a home if your manhood can handle it), new cleats (old pair were trashed), and new shoes (on order).  And I got a free team jersey just for being a good sport.

Tomorrow's run is 9 or 10 miles, need to check.  After last week's little melt down, I'm going to be a good girl tonight and save the vino for tomorrow evening.

Hope everyone is shutting down the week in style.

Intense fitting. Mine was definately not that long. Haha.

Intense indeed.  4 hours?  Wow.  I am going to confess that I have never had an actual fitting.  I have done plenty of experimenting with my position, taking pictures and adjusting from there.  There's something about tinkering with my bike that makes me happy.

Sulcus - 2010-07-23 4:34 PM Hiya all - I, uh, got lost on my way over from the mentor thread and just made my way here.  Yeah, that's it.

Anyway, I'm happy to finally make my way here and join the "big leaguers."  I can't wait to keep learning (and spamming) with you all in the future!

hi, shawn! took me a while to find my way, but can't keep up with the flow, so just peek in occasionally - hope training, life, whatever, going well for you.....

Well, I am Melissa...aka. Melindy...PAMelindy...I'm the Canadian...I'm the "young un"...and well, I'm pretty sure I am the random one as well?

Welcome to the shenanigans. There are lots of them going on these days around here...I aide in the excessive posting...sorry if its difficult to keep up!

Right. I did, didn't I? Mind you, I think my use of random is sometimes synonomous with crazy.

If you watch Scrubs...I am Elliot. Actually.

If you don't watch Scrubs...I am a type A, slightly competitive, slightly neurotic medical student who swam competitively and now does triathlon.

Full disclosure. Happy Neal? Tongue out

wgraves7582 - 2010-07-23 8:20 PM Howdy Ghoulies - what a long day but a fun day with the boy!

So let me pose a question - I go to Target w/o DW and I call her and ask her if she went.  She says no but she left a list at home for me but no note that I was supposed to get the stuff - I thought it was her list to remind herself what she needed.

So I am gone and she says she needs the stuff on the list.  I get made because she could have left a note saying I need this and she says that I should not be yelling at her.  My reply is that if I don't get the stuff you are going to be yelling at me and she yes but that is acceptable.

Can you help me with this please.  I get in trouble for yelling but if I don't do it and I get yelled at it is alright?????????

Send me away calgon!!!

I thought it was Calgon, take me away.  Either way I'm no help in this department.  That stuff confuses me and is probably the reason I am single.  Shouldn't you just intuitively know what she wants and pick it up while you at Target? Haha

Someone bought me an H2audio thingy last year but I could never get it to work.  Today the middle 2000 yds went by quickly since I realized I was doing 2 laps to 1 on the guy next to me.  My goal was to keep that gap the whole time.  If it wasn't for that I probably would have been a lot slower.  On a sad note today I realized all the speed gains I made over the winter have been wiped out due to inconsistent swim training

Better.  The ghoulie mentees said they have a hard time keeping up so you might as well get it all out in one post.  Of course if they've been reading anything at all lately from the thread they could probably glean the craziness from that.

What is new with me???

Well...
It was my Boyfriends Bday and I baked him a yummy cake and improvised an icing.  It was all gluten and dairy free...some of the guests were skeptical, but they all tried it and enjoyed it (it was eaten more than the other cake).

I made the icing with chilled coconut milk(just the solids), powdered sugar, vanilla, and melted semisweet chocolate.  Whipped it up and spread it like a normal icing.

Well...
I did a 3.something mile open water swim...wasn't too bad.  The swells were getting really tiresome towards the end though.  I'm debating signing up for a 5k swim next month, but there would be a bit of traveling and registration fees.

Couldn't get what to work? I have the H20audio stuff and I like it? I wrap the headphones around my ears before putting them in to get them to stay and then put my cap on....I probably look like a complete dork...but I don't care. I swim fast and I have my tunes Cool

Awww. Its okay Neal. You are killing it in the bike and run!

Good morning ghoulies!

I got in one last run before leaving today.  I packed the running shoes and shorts, but don't know if I will be able to sneak anything in during the trip or not.

I hope everyone has a great week!  Behave yourselves while I'm gone.  Hahahahaha.  I almost typed that with a straight face.

Hope everyone has a good Saturday! Woooo..

Yesterday, went blueberry picking.  Got a gallon and half.  Was aiming for 3 gallons, but the heat did me in.  After napping, I then made 9 cups of blueberry preserves.  Yummy.

Morning all. I got up early and ran this morning. I forgot I signed up for the annual Bele Cher 5K in Asheville. It was hot hot hot already 85 degrees at 8:00 in the morning.  I had to walk some. It is supposed to be 100+ here today. Good thing I got the shopping in on the way home. Nothing like being sweaty to go to the store. Of course I saw 6 people I know. You know, the ones that do not sweat and are always color coordinated. Of course they all wanted to talk. Poor them.
Now for making tater salad, squash casserole, shucking corn, and then having friends over for a Birthday party. I was gonna go down to the lake but iI think that will be what I do tomorrow. Act like a water buffalo in the lake.

Have fun all!
