I did my first 10km race on Sunday! I shattered my expected arrival time, which was strange since I'm injured and walked at least 1km... The I went online and it was listed as 9km. NOW it makes sense. Someone must have messed up when setting up the route, then maybe a runner with a GPS came through the finish line with the bad news.

I tripped on the board walk and took quite a dive. Now I have scrapped up knees and the front of one ankle. Sexy!

Glad you survived the run and the 'dive'. How are the feet today? Are they giving you any problems?

The feet are being pretty good. Now the problem is my insurance company and trying to keep the Chiropodist appointment on Friday. I hate dealing with insurance! I won't get into the details here, I come here to be happy!

I hiked 14km on Monday (great activity for the first day of spring!) and my feet complained in the usual areas. It didn't get bad until the final 2km. I think they might just have to get used to my new boots.

1. Congratulations! 10km, 9km ... either way it was an inaugural race for you and you did it and PR'ed!

2. Scars are signs of victory.

I agree! I was proudly showing off my wounds at work to people who don't share the same sentiment. Hahaha

Morning All!

I was going to comment again on the sunglasses issue but then I realised I put my phone in the wash last night and that is far more stupid than continually breaking glasses - doh! So now I have n0 phone and no car (still in the garage from when I reversed into a truck the other week). What next?! The garage had told us today but of course it hasn't even been started on so now they say Friday....probably.....I said it had better be Friday because we have weekend and next week plans that just can't be done without a car, so fingers crossed for me please everyone!

Oooh, you hit a truck. I thought that you hit a person. Much better!!

Just think of how much better off you and the truck owner are that I was wrong.

Hey everyone ... well dayshifts are over - they really do make it impossible to have any kind of a life outside work. I go on nights tomorrow for a few ...

I'm doing OK ... I just had a crap run and I'm very tired (dayshifts, once again, suck) ... heating up some delish but very stinky left-over curry and having a glass of wine and just relaxing. I can sleep in tomorrow morning, I'm looking forward to that!

My workouts are going well, my eating's on track, and I'm quite pleased about this ...
However I have done NO yoga and haven't even looked at my paperwork-related goals ... I'm also terribly sad because I miss my boyfriend - it was a week today that he left and he's not back till early Thursday morning and leaves again Thurs night for a hockey tourney .. and since I'm on nights Wed/Thurs, I don't know that I'll see him. I miss him so much! It's the first time we've been apart since we started dating. ;-(

I'm a grumpy snort.

No yoga!! I am having trouble with my goals this month too because so many little extras have been added to my to do list and I have a course starting next week. I'm sorry Crushers! It looks like I am an anchor this month, but I'm not done yet!

Good luck with the car issues. I'm glad we have an extra car because I'm dealing with car issues as well.

At least we have 4 bikes but I don't think that will help with my super secret birthday party plans on Saturday (just guessing as I don't know whats going on) or picking my Mum up from the airport on Monday!

LOL double her back.

Rachel, if you want a story that'll make you feel better...  I've never put my phone through the wash but I did drop it in the toilet at my dd's school!  It was in my pocket and I leaned over to help my younger dd and PLOP.  I hate to reach in so it didn't stop up the toilet but that is one phone I never tried to revover!!

I destroyed a cell phone while on a snow machine one time.  It was in my pocket (properly bagged to keep moisture out).  I rode over a fallen tree with some random branches sticking out of the snow.  One of the branches broke and hit my leg.  The phone took the impact.  I'm glad because I would have had quite a hole in my leg!  The phone looked like someone shot it!

Blaaaaaaaaaarg ... I am very ill again

dratdratdrat. Really really cannot afford to be ill--either to cover the medical costs out of pocket, or not be working.

Funny a few weeks ago I thought I had food poisoning ... well it's the exact same thing now but worse, so who knows what it is. My sister was gonna take me to hospital tonight but I was delirious and insisted I'm sure I'd be fine by tomorrow. forehead slap ... owww that hurts. Everything hurts.

Slow day for posting today. Where is everyone?

For me : Swimming , the pool level is very high . Maybe the 4 inches of rain that fell on sunday during the marathon also swelled the pool. We had two stunt runners that got a lot of press : A 400 lbs sumo wrestler aka The FAt Guy who "ran" it in 9:38 and dropped 4 pounds over 26.2 miles And the McRunner who consumed nothing but McDonald diet for a month before the race and posted a very impressive 2:36 finish time

I read about the sumo guy but not McRunner. I love it when someone does something that shows you can't blame fast food for being out of shape. Sure its not the best, but diet is only part of being in shape. It takes exercise and other stuff and that's the part that people tend to ignore.

McRunner McPr'ed and finished 29th Overall and ... perhaps Best of all has raised $28 for ronald macdonald house

That should have read 28 thousand $

Hilly Run and Gym workout today , 3 of my 4 goals are progressing well , Just have not been riding my bike which requires me to be home during daylight hours .
I have a race saturday and a triathlon swim clinic on sunday so it looks unlikely for the weekend
I can ride at the gym but its too easy and nowhere near the challenge of riding outdoor and i chose to make one of my goals a real deal bike ride.

I had a GREAT swim today! So happy ... no pain in the shoulder, no mobility issues, no 'catches', nothing - it was fantastic! 40 minutes of laps and I feel amazing!

Also, my bf is coming over tomorrow morning when I get home from work to "tuck me in" ... giggle. Laughing

now that is really cool. I figure also he probably stuck to stuff like the broiled chicken and baked potatoes, salads and veggies. You can eat okay at McDonald's; I figure it would just get boring fast. Heck it gets boring fast even when you can eat all the bad stuff.

Equipment was stuck in a snow storm so we had to wait hours in the cold while they set things up, then she dropped her phone in the toilet, then she stripped on a step, twisted her ankle and got trampled by people, and then the concert didn't last very long.

The only concert-like thing was a concerted series of mishaps! Heh. Poor thing.

I have dumped my phone in the toilet as recently as ... hm it was the pig-roast weekend, so ... a little over 3 weeks ago.

I was going to say, all that for $28? The Ronald McDonald house would have been better off if he just donated his entry fee. $28k would definitely be worth it.

Massive sad face!!!! If you jump on a flight over here I will look after you until you are better - we have a spare room!

Morning All!

Hope everyone is doing well this morning, especially you Yanti, although I suspect there has been no miracle recovery yet

Its my birthday today, and I am determined to have a fun day, even though I am at work. I started off with breakfast with my husband which was nice, we never breakfast together because I am always straight out the door to train while he heads to work. Then I went to pilates, a nice relaxing start to the day, and now I am in work.
