Kido - 2011-12-02 4:20 AM Everything went well. Already eating anything I want with very little discomfort. Throat doesn't hurt, but more my neck... like someone punched me in the adams apple. I have to spend the night, but already up for going home. Maybe early tomorrow morning. I scared myself looking in the mirror though. Seriously like a horror movie. It looks like someone took a knife and slashed my throat. A 5" cut right from ear to ear! Haha! I also have a tube coming out of my neck got drainage. EW! Radiation is next a hopefully no issues like infection... Then hormons for the rest of my life. Boo. Thanks for everyone's positivity! Good to know who your friends are, even online buds!
Good to hear, I'll continue keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

You're here! Hi!!!

And hello to you as well. I hope that you are feeling better. I've been on vacation for a week, with nothing to do but swim and decorate for Christmas. And peruse BT.

Ah ha! You're STILL still here.

Overall much better, still up and down a bit, but that's to be expected. The hard part now is putting a leash on myself.

Sounds like an awesome vaca to me.

There are so many little things that I hate about my job. Other than the fact that I have 2 diametrically opposed jobs, that I can't do in 1 location, yet when I go to the other office to do the OTHER job that I have to do, my boss gets pizzed at me... I also ask for information that we SHOULD have, and my boss tells me we don't have it, go crawl under the bridge in the mud to find what you need. No problem. As I'm crawling out from it, I see him, and he tells me that he knows EXACTLY what I just found out. ULGH.

Kido - 2011-12-02 8:42 AM I miss my coffee. it's been almost 48 hours since I had any! Plus I'm starving. I'm jonesing gor some eggs bennie and bacon.

no coffee or food allowed??  or just no good food allowed??

They don't allow anything after midnight the day day of your surgery. So when I got out at 6pm it had almost been 24 hours. They have me jello and even a sandwitch to eat and the wife got me a big cookie from the cafeteria at 9pm. But that's not NEARLY what I'm used to from what I was eating during IM training.

well it's the day after, go get some NOMS!

The mention of noms made me think of White Castle. That sounds SO good right now. That's on the bucket list when I go home to STL for Christmas to see my parents.
White Castle >>> Steak and Shake.Five Guys beats them all though, but isn't cheap.
I haven't been to a steak and shake in forever. I used to go to five guys all the time! The best pizza. I'm also going to hit up Imo's and Ted Drews. The usual spots.

Why is it the first thing out of the hospital, you want nothing more than a cheeseburger? I think I've done this 5 times now. Bike accident, 2x achilles surgery, 2x colonoscopy; I have made Susan hit the drive through on the way home.

Not me, but usually when I've just been ejected from a hospital it was for something that involved a lot of puking and abdominal procedures.

However, I have gotten through the majority of difficult races thinking about cheeseburgers afterwards. And piglets.

But be thankful you have a job...isn't that the universal mantra these days. Undecided

I am thankful that I have the ability to live the life that I do. I am thankful that I have the resources to pay my bills comfortably. I am very thankful for all that. I am thankful that I am employable/employed. I really am. I may complain about it a lot, but I do realize that I am very, very lucky.

Thanks for the perspective check

sadly, i didn't even look at the price today of the brownie balls. Surprised

Talking to Latin men now?

Surprised ha

@ kido...i went to williams sonoma...holy  cow...what they want for an espresso maker. i could buy at starbucks for two years, straight...every day, and it still wouldn't be what the price of that was. i have wanted one though, an espresso maker. i noticed a few posts up...you're on meds? sorry to hear you're not feeling well.

for the group...what is wawa?

I'm killing time in my hospital room, hence the flurry of posts. I'm also posting on my smart phone, so lots of typos. But I am on some pain meds! And low on sleep. I don't think these are the fun pain meds though. I don't feel pain, but I don't feel dreamy either.

since you have nothing better to do...ha could you retell why you're there?

In a nuttshell, a annoying little case of thyroid cancer, so here to let the butchers hack it out (actually, my doctor is fantastic). They grabbed a couple lymph nodes while they were digging around in there. It's a nuisance really, doc days I can be training again in a week.

I just didn't think that a leash would slow you down much, but the image is interesting, to say the least. I am out of here, got a couple of things to get around town.

oh. sorry. i was being sarcastic. Tongue out

i am thankful too...but it seems like employers take advantage of the bad economy...and keep reminding people...oh, but be thankful you HAVE a job. kwim? it just makes me feel...like we can't ask for a raise. ask for anything, because we should all be so thankful.

/rant over

Sarcastic or not, I do need that some times

It's true that employers take advantage of the economy, and employees. Which is a huge reason there is no professional loyalty anymore. Very few people are lifers these days, because people understand that if the company thought it would be advantageous to get rid of you, they would... so employees think that if it is advantageous to them to leave, they will. Kinda sad, but hey, it's business, right?

sadly, i didn't even look at the price today of the brownie balls.

It's a nuisance really, doc days I can be training again in a week.

omg...i had no idea. wow. i will be praying for a full recovery very soon. you'll be done with everything, after this hospital trip?

Very sadly, they'll need to fry him for a while, too. So keep the prayers coming ...

LockOut - 2011-12-02 9:15 AM There are so many little things that I hate about my job. ULGH.

That's very sweet, St. Peter at the Pearly Gates and all, but I still think you should puke on his shoes.

I'm not going drinking with my boss(es), so no puking on THEIR shoes... but I can puke on my friend's shoes if you think that'll help?
