#59......3rd in a row on the stupidmill.  Since daylight savings time my run trails are closed by the time I get home.  I need to adjust...I can't do the treadmill 4 or 5 days in a row.  I see lunchtime runs in my future.

Trails.  I would love to have some of those.

For the fourth night in five, I found myself getting a minimal run in which took me past midnight.  Thus, "22*".  I'd like a lunchtime run, but don't have a shower at work so it's not practical.  In order to become more time-efficient I really ought to run as my evening commute more often.

The idea is to run every day......you're getting yours.  Minimal doesn't matter.....frequency does....at least that's what I'm learning.  My 2.5 mile runs are now ridiculously easy...and I'm not going to rush it.  In looking at my logs, the time running has increased about 15-20 minutes per week for the 7 weeks I've been at this.  I ran 27 miles in August with serious PF pain.  Last month I did over 90......I'll hit over 100 this month, but just over.  Every day I run is a win, and I think you need to look at it the same.  I'm no expert on distance running, and I learn from the folks on this board who are, and I learn more about my legs every day I run.

My runs this week have been COMPLETELY  pain free from PF.......I struggle now with staying the course (I want to go longer and faster)....what keeps me on track is the pain free progress I see over the length of this deal.

#55

Feels weird because I missed the morning run and the 2nd run yesterday. Got sick yesterday, so canned everything for the evening (had 1 run in the morning already), going to bed early. Slept it in the extra hour instead of the first run. Felt progressively better throughout the day, so put in an easy run this evening. I don't think pushing through the sickness would have done me any good.

"Every day I run is a win" - YES!  And every run a learning experience.

Love it!

23: 10K "early late night" - lakeshore boardwalk and beach neighbourhood.  Gave up on the HRM which thought I was walking when I was actually creeping up over LT, slowed down and enjoyed looking into the closed store's windows as I passed.  Home long before midnight, too!

24: 20 minutes easy, but in the morning for a change!

This was run no. 14 Friday evening - the end of the rainbow was in the water - too cold to dive in for the pot of gold!  Of course there being a rainbow did mean I got absolutely drenched at one point, lucky it was n the run for home about 2km out!

If it wasn't for this challenge, today would have been a day I didn't run.  I planned on going early, but between the kids and a project for work, that didn't happen.  So I had to settle for a 10pm run.  I was starving, it was cold and I was concerned about icing.

But the run was great!!!  It was just what I needed after a long day.

Day 19 down.

But then I dropped a bowl of food on the carpet.  It was catastrophic.  The food was staining, and it flew everywhere.  I had to break out the carpet cleaner, and after almost an hour of cleaning I decided I will have to tear out the carpet and replace it with hardwood (it was that bad).

But the run was great!!!

It's amazing how often this happens even when you think laying down would be best. Remember this for the next time it hits.

Maybe one of the running gurus on here can help you.....I can't.  I'm happy with my streak....but I've been MUCH smarter about building up than I ever have been before.

If you are like me.......just stop running and heal....then start from scratch.  Basically, start over, like you've never ran before.....that's what I've done.  I have no idea if it works for anyone else.

Good luck...the answer is out there if you have the will.

Yesterday was day 354 for me with a 31 mile ultra marathon, the Rosaryville Veterans Day 50K. Not sure of the offical time or reuslts yet, they have posted them online and I had a 6 hour drive back home after the race so I did not stick around long. According to my garmin watch I ran it 5 hours 15 minutes and 12 seconds. I under estimated how tough running trails really are, I had not run any since June. I was hoping to run this in 4:45 time range but am happy with the result of my first ever 50k. There was just shy of 3600 foot elevation gain for the enitre course too. It'll be slow going for my runs the next couple of days but I'll suck it up and get them done.
