My wife just texted and said she has no motivation to clean so I sent her this picture as motivation:

http://resources0.news.com.au/images/2012/10/15/1226495/700504-daniel-craig.jpg

Very nice of you, but did you tell her he's coming for a visit? Otherwise that's just a good reason to procrastinate longer hi TAN

It's been 30 minutes since I sent the picture with no reply.  Either she got motivated to clean or motivated to other stuff

Time to get into my spandex and ride up the hill.  Yay!!!

Yay!! Now send her a hubby in spandex pic to see if she responds in less than 30.
She'll be all `I'll clean! I'll clean! Enough with the torture! MYYY EYYYYYYYYYYES!!!'
You're lucky there's a no pics in TAN rule or I'd punish you by posting a picture of me in spandex... Hahaha...

There is always the BT Guys thread you know! Hi TAN?

How was the weekend race?

Ha! See above for my monumental FAIL! . Some days you are the windshield and some days you're the bug.

. Hey Kate. So how'd the row go?

Grrrrr it didn't! I took a wrong turn and got stuck in traffic for a marathon that was going on the same day. I got to the venue 3 minutes after my race was supposed to start! Needless to say I felt like a complete idiot! I have my goal for next year though, to qualify for the CRASH bs in Boston.

Doh! That's like a bad dream! Sorry about that. There are so many rowers here. I ran around Town Lake on Sunday and I'd say there were 30 people skulling.

Any early risers ? Slow day. I see the inventor of the Etch-A-Sketch died at the age of 86. Used to be one of my favorite toys, and taught me at a very young age that I would never have a career in anything that required artistic talent.

yep been up for over an hour now. Patty Andrews, the last member of the Andrews sisters died the other day as well. Artistic talent is not my forte either; there is a reason I'm in science.

I wasn't smart enough for science either. I ended up in something where there were only 2 possible outcomes- up or down. Those were the best odds I could find. The rest is history.

Yeah, I caught that this morning.  Sometimes I start a reply and then notice I never hit submit, because I started working on something else.  Multi-tasking with 2 hours of sleep shows that I shouldn't ever do it.  :-)

I don't get sick days per se. I get PTO which goes to sick days, vacation days and holidays so the more sick time I take the less vacation time I get.

my company does that too, i don't understand that policy.  it encourages people to work when sick or horde their days just in case and not take vacation time - which is pretty proven to be important to employee productivity.

i've already got 12 vacation days planned out of 21.5 before june - better not get sick!!!

I'm pretty sure the system is like that as a deterrent to the increasignly frequent don't feel good so won't go to work today. Most people have an inflated sense of self worth compared to what they earn. To compensate they work less. Here in Spain they just passed a law for government workers that if they call in sick they don't get paid unless they have a written confirmation from a government doctor. To go see a government doctor can be an all day affair of like 98% waiting. Funnily enough work attendance has improved sinse this law was passed.

Very true! They will force us to take off if we are sick enough though. Oh and hurricane days come out of that as well. I had to burn some of mine with all the recent goings on so I have to build mine back up, I'm down to like 2 weeks. Likewise I better not get sick!

Good morning TAN

In CA vacation time or personal time has to either be rolled over the next year or the extra has to be bought out where PTO does not so companies like it better because it is cheaper from them.

we are only allowed to roll over 5 days of PTO, but i think the company dictates that and not necessarily government.  again, to save money.

I can roll over PTO up to a certain accrual amount but that is like 8 weeks for me.  I doubt I will ever bump up against that limit!  I can also cash out my PTO.  I think that is more for the senior management who get a whole lot more PTO than the rank and file.
