You can do it!!!  Or maybe your brain is telling you to take a day off.  Either way

I ran w/ the dogs this morning, but only for an hour cuz had to take #1 son to classes.  I was really glad he didn't get his driver's license when he was 16, but he's 18 now and I can't wait   Ok, I can wait til winter's over so he gets 3 seasons of practice before the snow hits again.  The foothills are not very forgiving of driving errors.....

Go team!!  I will update the spreadsheet tonight when I get the info off garmin.

Hey everyone - I have to admit I won't be running today at all. I have been up most of the night with the flu and can barely make it from the bed to the bathroom with as little strength I have. Finally able to keep 2 saltines and some sprite down. I was one that was under 40% but would have been at 50% if I could get my runs in the next couple days. I will try to take it easy and come back strong. Otherwise I might have to back out of this challenge - we see what the next couple days are like.

Sorry.

Oh, Stacie, that is awful. Can you get to a doc to get some Tamiflu? The flu has been going around like wildfire here and there has been a huge difference in the recovery times of the people who got Tamiflu and those who let it run its course. I'm heading into work as soon as my kids get home from school because our afternoon guard has the flu. Take it easy and feel better soon.

Stacie, I'm sorry to heart that you are sick.  Please take care of yourself and rest and recover before you think about coming back to running.  You being healthy is way more important.  I hope you feel better soon.

I got in 3 miles today.  It was drizzling and a bit cool, but I rather enjoyed it.  I also got a new pair of running shoes.  The ones I was using always cause problems on my long runs.  I'm going to try these new ones out on the treadmill tomorrow.  Hopefully they will work better than my current shoes.

Good job today and good luck w/ the shoes!  It's funny how shoes can feel fine on short runs but after a while they really hurt!  Ok, it's not funny at all actually....

Hi Scizzazz! I am back from vacation so thought I would check in and share my run results tonight.

This is cool. My goal today was to come back in the same time or less than I went out. So I went out tonight very cold on the lungs (ouch) and very very windy. It was hard to concentrate on my breathing but I forced through it! I went out in 13:33 and came back in 13.34! Very cool since it is not a flat course by any means. I think I am getting better at pacing myself. Another telling thing is my avg hr on the way out was 157 on the way back it was 170. Can you tell which way the wind was blowing??

Hope you are all doing well!

I ran 40 minutes at the gym, could have gone longer but for some reason I never want to. Hahahahaha. I've had such a crappy day, nothing bad in general, just a lot of small things all at once. I'm so buggered off about this olympic training plan....argh.  I cannot do all the things on it PLUS have a life I guess.  It's ticking me off, mostly because I'm at work 12 hours a day and then I have to come home after the gym and do housework etc because I have a husband that just plainly refuses to help out with things, even on his days off. He doesn't know that on Saturday's when he works all I do mostly is clean house. I just want it to be nice because I like it that way. Sigh.  I've been upset all bloomin day like a big child.

Sorry, I should have blogged all this mush!!!  I am going to up my mileage again if that's ok, to 20. It's only half way through (almost) and I'm already at 10.   I ran 40 minutes but only got 2.66 miles. I'm disappointed in that. I don't know how fast I should be running in order to better myself these days.........pants.

sorry about the crappy day lynne--if it makes you feel any better, i run like CRAP on a treadmill. i can stay at a steady 10mm (usually) but on a treadmill, i'm dang killing myself to do a 15 mm why?? no idea. try running outside and see if there's a difference, betcha $100 you'll feel better about it.

OK, and the real reason i stopped by.
my b-day is coming up (ok, not SO coming up, it's in april, but a girl has to be prepared )
anyway, i have it in my head to get a gps thing-for-running. like a garmin or a suunto, i also just saw the nike + thing (i think lynne said she had that??) where you put the thing in your shoe, and it does all the stuff and sends it to your ipod (well, actually i don't HAVE an ipod, so THAT one might be out)
anyway, i know i can go look on the gear guide thing, but i'm too lazy, so what do you all have, or use, or recommend??
money is NO object (LOLOLOL) well, actually, it KIND of is. i mean i can't like break the bank or whatever, but my b-day is still a few months away, so i don't think spending a couple hundred is going to kill dh.

no run for me this day. i am planning to run tomorrow. the run i did the other day that was so great was--well, it was so great. the first mile was a greuling uphill heart attack kind of thing, but then it was like 2.5 miles of gentle downslope. it was AWESOME!! totally doing THAT route again.
actually, i'm a little behind this month, so i need to plan a good long run here either tomorrow or thursday. that should help our numbers some.

Apple sell refurbished IPODS.  Mine was only $79. You can't pick your colour though, just what they have. My shoes were only $50 too on sale at REI and I think the NIKE+ Kit is $30.

They are all out of 2nd gen nano's @ $79  though but keep checking as they get them in all the time. They are usually just returns....

Well actually. You really don't need the Nike shoes. There is a little pouch thing you can buy on ebay that works just as well.
