June Challenge Team Standings - Week #3

June is now 73% completed, and we're almost at the END OF THE CHALLENGE! Here's how the teams stand, with just over a week to go: FIRST PLACE - Kamikaze Geckos - 65.9% SECOND PLACE - Totally Nutty Triathletes (TNT) - 61.3% THIRD PLACE - Avatar Avengers - 58.6% FOURTH PLACE - Cheesecake Lovers - 56.5% Congratulations to the KAMIKAZE GECKOS! BUT June isn't over yet! We still have 8 more days to go! So remember - if you don't MOVE IT this month, your team is likely to LOSE IT! And remember - You may now achieve 110% of your individual goals! This means you can challenge yourself even more, or help out teammates who may be struggling to meet their goals. For example: Your swim goal may now reach 110% Your run goal may now reach 110% Your bike goal may now reach 110% Your "other" goal may now reach 110% Each individual goal will be capped at 110%. (In other words, you can't do 125% of a goal.) This means that you could, conceivably, reach a "super achiever" 110% total. Need a reminder of what happens at the end of June? The winning team(s) will display a signature line: "My team won the June Challenge!" All other (losing) teams will display an avatar of something that SHOULD have made them move more! This could be your shoes (ie: you should have run more), or your bike (ie: you should have biked more), or your bathing suit (ie: you should have swam more), or.... etc. Avatars and signature lines will be displayed for the month of July. After that, it's your choice whether to leave it, or remove it. - Dee

Ok, folks, the crunch is on -- let's see if we can make an incredible comeback and take over first place in these last 8 days. I know that I'm one of the ones who slacked off earlier this month. I've been running the numbers and I should be able to come it at 100% (or maybe just over) if I really focus these next few days. Who else is on board with me?

LET'S DO IT!!!!!

Yeah!  Let's aim at exceeding goals if possible!!

Hey team, I PROMISE to meet my swim goal, and I'm pretty sure I can get the extra 10% for biking too! As for my running goal, i havent been able to run the past two weeks and I dont see myself running this next week either due to a foot injury... the arch just wont heal itself. I did get some good recommendations from Jessi Stensland (SUPER nice - she came out to our mock tri yesterday and ran through transitions, etc). With her advice I am confident that I will be ready for my Tri next month!!!

But for this month, who can I talk with to possibly lower my running goal?

Keep up the good work team. First IS within reach!! LETS DO IT!

p.s. sorry I updated the spreadhseet late!

Sledge - 2008-06-21 10:20 PM I raced my first tri today since last October, and my third tri ever. It was wonderful! I'm addicted, and ready for the next one. Well, maybe I'll wait a week or so...

Congrats!!!  Let us know when the race report is up!

It's up!

Miss Dee, we need you!  Need to lower a goal due to injury ^^^^^

Sorry you're still hurting -- hope it heals fast!!  And it's smart not to overdo it because of the challenge.  I did on my first challenge and it took much longer to heal.

Off to check it out right now!

Google has had some, er, "issues" with formulas this month. It keeps losing them when the spreadsheets are saved.

It'll be fixed in a minute.

Edited to add: Spreadsheet is now FIXED!

OK, so you couldn't run since about June 8th? (That was 2 weeks ago.)

I lowered your run goal to 26.7% of its original amount. (8 days out of 30.)

That means you've now hit 100% of your run goal. (You actually exceeded the revised goal, but since it was lowered due to injury, you're capped out at 100%.)

In other words --> Stop running until your injury is cleared up. (Running any more for the Challenge will not help your team. Nor will it help YOU get better!)

Hope your foot is better soon!

I leave tomorrow for IL.  My wife and I are chaperones for a youth trip.  I doubt I'll be on BT much, but we'll be back on Saturday night...I'll have to catch up again!

We will be sending good vibes your way for this.  That sounds like torture.  How many utes are going?

Enjoy and have fun.

Heh.  Utes.  What movie was that from?

About 88 kids went.  It was a busy weekend.  Got to do some fun things, and also do a little service near the Mississippi (park cleanup and re-establish some park trails)...

Hi CCL - hope everyone had a great weekend!

Thanks Sal!  It was a great race, a personal best in many ways, which is what made it great -

I'll get the RR up sometime tonight or tomorrow - goodness knows I need to be able to officially update the spreadsheet!

Got a ride in Sunday, and a sim in today. Plan a run for tomorrow, and an OWS Wednesday. I know I'l still have some to do , but I'l get to 100% on all 3, and hopefully over in at least one area.

Great race Beth!! Nice race report.

I should be able to hit 110% on the bike and at least 100% on the run and the swim.

Thanks Dee!! I will be sure to rehab! I actually squeezed in a SMALL run yesterday and it felt pretty good. Dont worry, it was hardly a run... more like a brisk walk! but i am following Jessi's recommendation and massaging and stretching before and after each workout! seems to be paying off!!

Planning some open water swims this week to help meet the swim goal... I havent been able to make masters due to long hours at work, but I'll catch up, dont you frett team!!

Ok, team, I promise I'll get there...my strength/core time has been holding my numbers down. I just need to find the time to squeeze in 100 more minutes in that category. I should be able to hit 110% on the bike and probably the swim, too!
