Woke up this morning feeling less than stellar...upper resp infection--congestion/sore throat/cough/headache...went for a ride this morning and was feeling worse at the end of the ride than the beginning. I'm bundled up like it is winter time because I'm cold and shivery. Bah! Apparently my recent "sluggish/tiredness|" is really my sickness prodrome. Debating what to do training wise....I'm figuring the right thing to do is rest and take it easy over the next few days since I've got some key sessions later this week to get done...but it's so hard to justify taking it easy when I don't feel ridiculously horrible... Rest or you will get worse and have no choice to rest for much longer. grumble grumble grumble.... mutter mutter mutter. You can even whine a bit if you want... Just rest! whine whine whine... |

Just in time too, because my phone is starting to irk me. Makes me want to get stabby.... Run.. no stabby! Yes dear! Run, done. FYI, 5 easy miles to me is not the same as 5 easy miles to a Kona finisher. That is all.

Today is the 4 year anniversary of when that damn horse threw me and changed everything. I wrote up the big long story last year, I am too tired to type it again this morning. For me though, 4 years ago, everything changed.

NO! It is supposed to be Tom that is "sick" today and not for real. |

I don't know if I told you guys or not, but I had a phone interview yesterday. I spoke with 3 people at the place where I could be working. I think it went pretty well. They asked me several questions, and most of the time I didn't even have to finish the answer, I would say one particular thing they were looking for and they would tell me that was all they needed to hear and then they moved on to the next question. I'll let you know what happens. Even if I take it I am still hoping that the company who is bidding on a job at a different base in July gets that contract so I can go there. The job I interviewed for yesterday would be almost an hour away. It would be straight down the highway, but to drive 2 hours a day is a lot. Even if I am offered the job, I need to find out what the hours are, and if they're flexible before I can take it. My evenings are pretty busy, I can't work somewhere until 5:00 and drive an hour home. That would get in the way of soccer, basketball, jiu jitsu, my sanity. Can't do it!

Ann, give it very careful consideration before taking a job with that kind of commute. Even if they say they are flexible, see if you can talk to others and find out what the actual practice is in the office. 2 hours a day of commuting with young kids does not sound like a good idea. Advice given from the 2 1/2 hour + per day commuter. |
