One hour @ 4:45 am trainer ride using TrainerRoad.com.  If you haven't seen this product, I gotta say that I love it.  Even though it is does not give you actual power numbers, the virtual power calculations are close enough for my purposes and establish a nice baseline.

Joe,

I looked at your log and the link to trainer road, pretty nice data, heck of a workout too.

Ok first triathlon next Saturday (14th). Only a sprint to start with- 750m swim/20km ride/5km run. What should I be doing next week. Taper a little or continue building up my time for the longer triathlon I have in march and may? Also any good advise to see me through would be good.

I have same issue.  In response Chris's post I have tried disabling HTML etc.  It doesnt help.

Basicallly what you need to do is when you write from iPad only send simple posts and add in <br> whenever you want to add an enter symbol.

Ernesto- Today is my hill training.  Last week I didn't use my lap and once I uploaded the workout discovered I ran most at a sub 8min pace but I could only hold it on the hill (7% incline) for 60 seconds.  For the 10k, my goal is to get as close to 50minutes as possible but to be honest anything under 54minutes would make me thrilled!  What pace should I be running the hills and for how long (60sec to 90sec)? Planning on 7 repeats, if that helps.

Repost in case the question got lost in the thread...

4 mile run, 41'58". Really tough going, legs felt like lead and rubber at the same time after only 2 miles. Thought I was overdoing it wit the R/B/R in consecutive days plus no rest day, but then I weighted myself at 196.4lbs (1.5 lbs lower than yesterday). Maybe dehydration? Guess not used to this cold dry climate. Gonna be drinking lots of fluids today.

Thanks Gabriel, thought about it and will run tomorrow. I think that during the run I will pretend we are going up "The Hill" during winter time...those walks were never painful (although alcohol might have been involved).

PS: "The Hill" is fraternity row at Lehigh university, a place were Sir Gabriel and yours truly spend many a nights before joining this healthy lifestyle.

LOL Samy, this is such a great blast from the past (the good old times!)

I got a new indoor trainer for Christmas and I’m still trying to figuring it out.  I did 30 minutes on it last night.

Question for the group:  Should I increase the resistance and go for less time or have less resistance and go longer?   (Should I find middle/average resistance and just change my cadence?)   I am a “rookie” so any advice will be helpful.

You need to go into settings at the top of the page (picture of a wrench). From there, hit the "Forums Settings" tab just under User Information.

Second option down is "Use rich editor for blog and forum posts?"

This needs to be set to "No".

Then hit the "Submit" button.

Woohoo!  Finally went down.  This I think is because I've been getting up at 5am the last few days for work, and this morning finally had a lie in...  It's amazing what a difference sleep makes to my weight!

Jackie you mentioned having a ISM saddle.  how do you like it?

I was going to jump in and just get the John Cobb Vflow Plus but I keep toggling back and forth between that and the ISM Prologue.  Both seem like great saddles but it is turning out to be a real tough choice.  I also found the ISM on ebay for $135 but that would eliminate all chances of return.

I have the ISM Adamo Road saddle.  I got it last year after struggling for months to find a saddle that didn't cause pain/injury in my lady parts.  It is much better, but having had a break from the bike in October, I'm still finding it's taking time for my sit bones to MTFU.  I think the pressure is in the right place now, and I'm not getting the problems that I had with the previous saddle, but I'm looking forward to the day I can get on the bike and not think "that's still sore from the last ride".
