If you need a person to distribute them from Canada...I would love to help out a fellow Canadian.

I don't have any business but could be the "in-between" for all your Canadian customers Laughing

I'm hopefully going to get a Flo 90 front with a Flo Disc for the rear Cool

Thanks for the offer.  We are not using any distributors and are going to sell everything from our website.  Nothing personal, just the way we are set up.

The FLO 90 and DISC are a great combo.  I'm confident you'll love it.

Take care,

The recommendations are based on our component specs eg. spoke tensions, lacing pattern, rim and hub specs and the advice from the expert builders that hand build our wheels.

We are looking forward to Monday too!

Ok, screwed up and posted this as its own thread but now I think I'm in the right place.

A couple questions I didn't see [definitive] answers to

1) I break spokes.  I seem to break at least one a year no matter what wheels I'm running.  My understanding is that the wheels use a custom spoke SO can you add the ability to order a few spokes with the wheels?

2) My weight bounces around near 190, but given #2 I'm still wondering if I should order clydes.  I number of other manufactures beef up the back wheel more that the front.  Does it make sense just to get a clyde rear?

We are shipping spare spokes to the US and will have them in stock.  If you break a spoke simply let us know.  We'll take care of you.

Our front wheels will be the same for Clydes and Non-Clydes (20 radially laced spokes).  The rear wheels will have 24 - 2 cross spokes for our standard build and 28 - 3 cross spokes for our clydesdale build.  If you have a tendency to break spokes I'd recommend the clydesdale build.

Can I ask what you are doing when you break spokes?

Thanks,

Is there a weight limit recommendation for the disc?

Standard builds have a upper weight limit recommendation of 198lbs or 90kg.  Our clydesdale build wheels have an upper weight limit recommendation of 242lbs or 110kg.

If that doesn't work let me know,

I tried to go to your web site to look before posting, but every link I took threw me in to a huge virus that just plays some video over and over again.  It was quite obnoxious actually.  Could you do something about that?

just curious - how loud is the rear hub when not pedaling?  went on a group ride with a new guy the other night and all anyone not near him was talking about was how loud his wheels were whenever he was coasting.

I currently have carbon tri-spokes so a disc cover has not been an option and paying a large amount for a stand alone rear disc has not been "wife-approved" due to cost.  An affordable rear disc would be great, but I have no experience with them (other than the cool sound when one passes me).

One other thing, I am fairly new to the cycling world and am wondering what the benefit of the ceramic bearings in the hub would be?  Negligible or noticeable?

Let me preface this by saying I am not a super competitive triathlete... im a consistent MOPer and am happy with that.

So my questions are:

Are the ceramic bearings worth it?

What about the depth... would I be OK going 90/90 or would a 60/90 setup be better for someone like me (average bike handling skills)? Also keep in mind that right now i am riding a roadie with clipons (Felt AR4)

Does that answer his question?

I'm pretty sure it does.  He asked about the weight limit of our wheels and I gave him the weight limit of our wheels.  Did I miss something?

Is there a 'standard' disk and a 'clydesdale' disk?

Yes.  We have both a standard and clydesdale build option available on all of our wheels including our FLO DISC.

If so, you would be the only manufacturer I've ever heard doing this.

HED does this as well.  Take a look at the specifications tab on this page.  They have regular rider weight limit of 190lbs on their disc and a "stallion" build option available on their disc for up to 225lbs. HED Jet Disc

I tried to go to your web site to look before posting, but every link I took threw me in to a huge virus that just plays some video over and over again.  It was quite obnoxious actually.  Could you do something about that?

We are getting ready for our Launch.  There is a lot of website development that is being finished up.  The wheel pages, specs pictures etc will be available on the 20th of February for those who sign up to the Launch.  If you do not want to sign up for the Launch, the information will be publically available on the 23rd of February after 2pm PST.

I'm sorry if you find this obnoxious but we are currently under construction getting all of our content up to date.  All of the info will be live as soon as possible.

Take care,

I guess that really depends on what you consider loud.  I will say that the volume of our wheels isn't any louder than what I'm personally used to.

If you have never ridden race wheels you may want to know that they are typically louder than training wheels.  They are kind of like an acoustic guitar.  The bigger surface area projects the sound.

I hope that helps,

I really hope that your website can hanle the traffic. I think you will have hundreds of orders being placed between 10:00 and 10:01. Please don't crash on me. I really need to be in that first production run for my first ironman. Congrats.

If you want to get from point A to point B in the fastest time possible, a disc wheel will always be your wheel of choice (assuming a typical course.  If you are climbing a mountain find the lightest wheels you can )

One other thing, I am fairly new to the cycling world and am wondering what the benefit of the ceramic bearings in the hub would be?  Negligible or noticeable?

That's a good question.  We wrote an article about our ceramic bearings on our blog.  I think it will help you decide if ceramic bearings are for you.  Ceramic Bearing Article

Let me know if you have any additional questions,

I hope that was a really lame attempt at humor.

The reason Flo and Hed Jets are the only ones that offer a standard and clydesdale disk is that they're the only ones where the disc is a fairing over a standard spoked wheel.
