Okay, TAN - friend of mine just gave me a better, and easier costume idea than SP. 'The Walk of Shame' - oversized button-down shirt (can be procured from any number of guy friends), a pair of boxers or gym shorts, heels, messy-ish hair, and droopy eye make-up. Possibly stained-in lip liner.

What say you, TAN? Should this be my outfit for the evening? I have generic black mesh gym shorts I can wear, got the heels, make-up, etc and can borrow a shirt from one of the male VAMDDCBTTC'ers.

That's pretty funny.  Sounds easier than the Palin costume.  Apparently making your hair very poofy is hard.

Naw, I doubt it's hard. I'm just terrible at doing hair. I've never been very good at it.

Actually, that's what the girl at work said.  Her hair keeps falling and she has to go poof it back up.

Oh, okay, good! I feel less like an idiot then! I mean, I could have done the regular half-updo, or a regular french twist thing just fine, but getting it puff up like she has it, it just wasn't working.

Apparently I switched to variables through out an entire paragraph.  Meh.  Soon I will be done with this infernal wonderfully challenging exam.

AUgh... got a speeding ticket at lunch today.. first one in over 10 years.. hate speed traps

That sucks! How much is it going to be?

$210 ... at least the officer was polite

How fast were you going?  Were there small children flying for cover?  That seems pretty steep.

Hahaha, $200 seems to be the minimum around these parts.  That's not bad at all.

I'm just ticked since it's been ages since I have a ticket and he was literally right off the highway as soon as you get on the access road.  I joked that at least I slowed down from 70 to what I was going,, but he just commented as soon as your off the highway you have to be going that roads speed.. I was joking a lot with him though and by the end he was laughing at the jokes..

when he came up to the car and asked if I knew why I was pulled over .. I said that was a obscure aspect of his job that he needed help with ??   at least he didnt' shoot me

I average a ticket about every two years.  Not bad, considering how I drive.

Two times I got warnings:

1) The first time I drove to my (soon to be) in-laws house at night.  I missed the switch from 35 to 25 in a very small town.  The cop saw my driver's license and chuckled and asked why I was here.  I told him and explained that I didn't see the sign because I was so focused on making my turn.  He gave me a written warning, told me where to go and told me to be careful for the deer on the road.  He was very nice.

2) I was late for work and going about 10 over.  I worked in a rural area at a restaurant and already had my uniform on.  The cop recognized it and gave me a warning because he knew I'd be in more trouble for being late than the ticket would give.  Plus, he came in later for dinner.

This has nothing to do with my gender and everything to do with the fact that the most i'll speed is seven over...

Subject: RE: #57 - I Need a Drink - Gin and TANic

Only ever gotten one - long time ago, when I was 18 - on I-87 going up to Lake George on Fourth of July weekend, late morning. The worst possible weekend to be driving on the NY State thruway, esp. since NY state troopers are ruthless. We were driving along, and I looked down and noticed that the speedometer was up to 80. Just as I put on the brakes to slow down a bit, we passed a cop. So of course, seeing an older car with two teenage girls in it, they pulled us over (never mind that every other car around us was probably going just as fast). Later, my parents yelled at me for not trying to talk my way out of it. But I was so upset that I'd gotten pulled over that I didn't say a word and just let him write the ticket.

Since then, I've only ever been pulled over once, for driving in the left lane "too long" on I-90, where I honestly didn't know, since it was my first time on that road (several years ago), that the left lane was for passing only on that road. Now I know that this is sometimes a rule (like on the Jersey Turnpike), but I had honestly not seen any signs. I got my license my senior year of high school (fairly late for most kids) and really only drove around town, and didn't have a car at college, so I just didn't do much interstate driving. I just told the cop that I was driving across the state to visit my sister at school, and had never been on that road before (all of which was true), and since I was buckled up and not speeding, he just said "well, now you know" and let me know.
