Of course a few years ago (maybe 5 or so) we hogged all of the snow from the west - Colorado and Utah - and had several feet of snow on the ground.  I have a picture of our car almost buried.  And they barely had enough to keep the slopes open.

I remember that.  It was the winter I was pregnant with Tristan.  It doesn't count because I was so busy puking I never got to enjoy it.

(You all wanted to know that, right?)

I didn't end up at the gym this morning.

The alarm went off and I climbed out of bed...and decided it was a stupid idea to get up at 4:30 am.

I slept for another hour and then got myself ready for school.  The commute was really fun.  Seattlites don't know how to drive in the snow...or in the wet slushy muck.  There were 3 cars in the ditch next to the main road to school.  They had all managed to go in seperately over a period of 30 minutes.  It ended up taking a crane to get the first one out.  What fun.

I agree - getting up at 4:30am in a stupid idea.  :-)

People in VA can't drive in the snow either.  On other note - I am one pooped puppy.  Long swim (for me at least) yesterday AM followed by a hard tempo run then a master's practice this morning.  I am sore all over.  I've got to get through a long run and bike tomorrow then I get  a little rest.

Does anyone have any exciting plans this weekend?

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My exciting plans for the weekend include doing our taxes and catching up on piles of laundry.

I've been really tired this week.  That's what recovery week is for, right?

People in Mississippi can't drive in the snow either  Good thing that only happens once every couple of years.

Ahh taxes - I usually do them early b/c we get a big return.  Last year we did some things that eliminated that chance and I think we may owe a little.  So I have been putting those off.  Ugh!

I'm looking forward to a recovery week - still one week and one weekend to go.  Right now I am so hungry and I am craving a small Five Guys burger and fries.  Is that bad, really bad?  Someone please tell me no so I can get some at lunch!

No, it's not bad.  As a matter of fact, those fries are sounding good.

NJ people can't drive in snow either, which is pretty sad considering it does snow here occassionally.  Even more sad because they are all driving SUVs.

My exciting plans are BACHELORS PARTY!!!  Ok, so it's in Starkville, MS of all places, but it's going to be fun.  It's basically 9 of us that all were great friends at Mississippi State just going back for a weekend to half way relive college days.  We'll be hitting our favorite bar, Dave's Darkhorse tonight for some pizza, beers, and music.  They always seem to have the really good bands that aren't some terrible 3 Doors Down/Good Charlotte wannabes.  Very mellow place.  Used to be a hippie bar, and yes, I know way to much about it.

I'm actually gonna get a long ride in Saturday morning, then we'll be catching the basketball game, doing some fishing, and eating at a place called... well, Does Eat Place.  Awesome steak joint that has pretty cool back story.  http://www.doeseatplace.com/our_history.htm

Then... back to Daves.

OK I have found some strength - I just can't do 1100 cal. and 62 grams of fat for a small burger and fries.  I checkout their website.  So I will go with another comfort food - a big slice of pizza which is not good but better than that and I will still be happy!

Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned, Bill.  That restaurant looks like a cool place.

We are going to have to stop talking about food, or I will have all the food I brought with me eaten before lunch time.  Then it will be a very long afternoon.

Just be glad I couldn't find the picture of the deep dish pizza they make at Dave's.  Mmm...

Oh, and in other news... I ordered my wetsuit yesterday.  I went with the Desoto two piece, and I can't wait to try this thing out.

Gotta love new toys!

Are there going to be funny pictures of you swimming in the pool in your wetsuit?

There are too many ways that this conversation could quickly deteriorate.  Have a good time at Miss State.  Good luck riding Sat. w/ a hangover.  :-)  LOL

I almost didn't come back to work after lunch.  Fridays take twice as long as the other days.

I just went out and took a walk.  It is 65 degrees here.  (Supposed to get some snow on Sunday.  It's so weird.)  It was hard to come back into the office.  Now it looks like it's going to rain, though.

We just got the Transformers movie from Netflix.  I am looking forward to going home, a 30 min trainer ride, then curling up on the couch with the kids and watching things blow up.

I love that movie!  I can't wait for the second one.  I'm afraid I will be curling up w/ Madagascar 2 - that is supposed to arrive today from Netflix.

I only liked Madagascar for the penguins.  Nothing blew up.  (We are very fond of explosions.)  I haven't seen the second one yet.

We got Hancock last weekend, and didn't realize until it started playing that we had gotten the unrated version.  I had my hands over Tristan's ears for half the movie!  (But things blew up, so we liked it.)

You could just say "Ear Muffs"  - we are fond of movies that blow up and stupid funny movies like Old School and Harold & Kumar.  We watched Hancock 2 weeks ago - it was an interesting movie.

You should rent Dolph Lundgren movies if you like explosions.  In high school, we would actually rent his movies and keep up with the body count and estimated cost of things blown up.

Men of War kept us entertained for years.

Best movie seen this year anyone?

Slumdog was outstanding, though I haven't seen many more.  Benjamin Button was pretty good, too.
