Good luck with the stroller thing.  Hope it works for you.  It did with my youngest this winter, when i was able to get out on the roads at all.  I just bundled him up tight and off we went.  He loved it.

The 2 things that worked well in the stroller when Nathan was that age was food & sleep.  He'd start out snacking and inevitably fall asleep.  Luckily I could move him out of the stroller without him waking.  Some kids won't stay asleep when you move them.  I hope it works for you.

I am very happy to say that it went great!   Granted, we only went 2 miles but holy cow was it a rough 2 miles.  There is something so much more strenuous about running while pushing the kiddo!

Lara ~ I only wish Sam would sleep in her stroller but she won't sleep anywhere but her bed (and sometimes on a really good day, her car seat.)

That's funny that your kid won't sleep in the stroller.  I can't hardly keep mine awake when he is in there.

I know!!  Everyone tells me how their kid(s) all fall asleep instantly in their stroller or car seat but NOT MINE!  There is just too much going on outside of her bed, I guess, to sleep anywhere else!

Mine would sleep just about anywhere which was nice at times.  I think it's all the long road trips we've done with him.  He probably has as many highway miles in 4 years as a car does in one year.

I was looking ahead at my training schedule for the weekend.  OMG! I have a double brick on Saturday.  I'm gonna be in Seattle so I guess I'll take the bike & trainer and use my SIL's treadmill.  It's supposed to be rainy over there all weekend (not pleasant) and she lives in an area of narrow roads.  That makes me nervous for riding or biking outside.

Good luck with that this weekend.  Training in strange places is always hard for me.

I'm going to be running a 10k this weekend with my Pastor.  Should be fun.  If we don't freeze.  Supposed to be about 25 degrees when we start.  He is trying to get into shape to run his first Tri with me in August.  He's a former marathoner, and road biker but not much of a swimmer.  I got him into lessons.  We'll be tackling some of that this weekend too.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!  What's everybody doing today?  Get out there and get something done.  I plan on taking my new puppy (she's adult, just new to us) for a long walk this afternoon.  Would like to run, but she just had surgery and the doc said it'll have to wait. =(  Race day tomorrow!  woohoo!  Sunny forecast but cold again.  25 at race time.  BRRR!

I'm waking up and packing up to head to Seattle for the weekend.  Time to spend the REI dividend and do some other shopping.  Maybe watch my niece's soccer game also.

Pollen count is up today and some of the orchards are burning their prunings.  So my lungs and nose are unhappy.  Good thing it's a rest day.  But thanks to modern medicine it's all tolerable.

Scott, good luck on tomorrow's race.

Hope everyone else has an enjoyable weekend.

Race Day!  What a beautiful morning to run.  10K in the crisp sunshine along the waterfront.  Not much better in this world, right?  Anyway I finished in just under 49 minutes and took third in my age group.  Frustrating thing about that is I paced off a 20 year old and beat him in the end.  AND HE WON HIS AGE GROUP!!!  GRRR!  OH Well! with age comes wisdom, right?

New puppy is doing great.  Thanks for asking.  Her surgery was a spay, so nothing real serious.  She'll be ready to go run in about a week.

Have a productive weekend everybody.

Happy Sunday everyone.  Another beautiful day here.  Can't believe it.  Two in a row!.. Getting out on the bike today for a long ride at least 30 miles.  Got to help my team catch up in our challenge.  Get out there and do something.

Scott, congratulations on your 10K.  You are smoking fast!  That's awesome about pacing down the youngster.

Got out for a leisurely ride with some gal pals on the cyclocross bike today. We rode to Chatham (small suburb of Springfield) and back on the paved trail. This was my first outdoor bike ride of the season and the fresh air zapped me!  Afterwards we all went to Panera and were able to sit outside in the sun. Great day!

Thanks for the compliment, but smoking fast I'm not.  That was the kid who ran it in sub 5 min miles.  Yeah sub 5.  He is 18 and being scouted heavily by the big track and field schools in NCAA.  Not bad for a farm kid from the sticks.

Dare we say that the worst of winter is behind us?  The sunshine was marvelous today.  Didn't quite get the mileage in, but it was still a good ride.  And we cooked on the grill...yummLaughing

Ski legs don't like to run.  Ouch.  Tuff day out there even though the weather was perfect.

Hello everyone!

Welcome back John.  Awesome race Scott.

I'm home today.  Only a day late.  The mountain pass was a real mess with snow & slush yesterday so we hung out and drove over today.  My bike got nice a dirty on the way home.  Even though there wasn't snow on the road, there was plenty of water.  That combined with big trucks make for a nice gritty mess on the bike.  But my nice hubby wiped it down for me.  He needed the water for something else anyway.

I did get my double brick done on Saturday.  Half way through I thought "this isn't too bad."  Then I got back on the bike and thought the opposite.  It was hard but I felt a good sense of accomplishment afterwards.

The shopping was successful.  Picked up some tri-shorts & cycling shorts.  Along with some other outdoor stuff that I "needed."

I was going to go for a short run this afternoon but my stomach is upset now.  So I think I'll wait until tomorrow morning when Hubby & I are going to ride the race course.  It's a lovely ride along the river and through the orchards.

I was going to go for a ride today but my stomach is telling me otherwise. So I'm gonna stay home and hope it clears up soon.  If I feel better this afternoon I'll go for a short run or at least a walk.
