If I trust my Garmin I set a PR for the 5k portion of the race.  I treated the additional mileage as a cool down

And the RD was letting people take food home since there was a huge excess.  I resisted the call of the donuts and instead grabbed a much of bananas.  I do show self control occasionally

Offthegrid - 2009-03-21 10:12 AM I went in and updated the spreadsheet this morning. I didn't get online yesterday, but I did two "microjogs" and lifted weights. Today I'm not feeling so great, but we'll see what I can get in later. It'll be something, though ...

Way to keep it peachy Susie!!

disturbed275 - 2009-03-21 12:15 PM I ran a "5k" this morning, which turned out to be about 3.8 miles instead

The organizer's must not be up to snuff with metrics yet.

Hi peeps!

I did the 5K this morning.  Finished in 30:17, middle of the pack.  I was not last, so I'm happy.  I even passed some people in the last mile.

Yup, quite tasty.  The best post-race food came at a 5k I did in February.  They had a pancake breakfast afterwards!

Yum.  I actually had pancakes at Denny's before the race.  I got there early to register, then went out to breakfast with my husband and son.  Our race didn't start until 10 am.

It was a good thing the race had a late start.  It was 22 degrees when I got up this morning.  At least it warmed up a bit before the race started.

Yikes that's cold.  I think a lot of spring races start late for that reason.  Mine was at 10am as well.  Mid-40s by start time
