My family, my sister and her family, including her MIL, my brother and his family, my parents, an aunt, and maybe a few friends all over for lunch. What do I make? My parents are brining a ham. I was going to make a turkey, not a big fan of ham. I don't know what else goes with an Easter meal though. I did pick up a box of Ghiradelli(sp) brownie mix. A little help please I vote for scalloped potatoes or potatoes au gratin I have made scalloped potatoes before, I'll have to put that one the list. I know you hate them dear, but you need at least two veggies in addition to taters. (green beans are universal and easy. you can even do a slaw as one veggie). You need some type of roll/ bread. If you are doing Turkey, add some cranberry sauce in a dish. With the ham, you can put out mint jelly or a honey mustard sauce in a dish. Cut up some strawberries and add some whipped cream to serve along with the brownies and you will be declared a goddess. Thanks Robin I know I need to serve veggies, I just don't have to eat them. |

I used to make all sorts of things from scratch for these gatherings. Now I get a lot of stuff pre-made and focus on making from scratch a few really cool things. I mean, I can't make baked beans much better than the local deli can. Same for slaw, etc. |

Champion 6225 | Subject: RE: Ghoulie March (STILL BIKING) Madness!!! deehtz - 2010-03-30 9:09 AM Sounds like much is going well for everyone Stacie, it is so reassuring to realize that there is a path forward, isn't it? Neal, 3 months and you are back to 100 miles a month? You're rockin' it! Bill, I wish you had your camera, too. The moonset sounds awesome. And congrats on your goals. Robin, I hope you feel better soon. Melissa, sounds like you are thinking priorities and balance thru. At least as much balance as a med student and triathlete can have....LOL (and I agree with Ann ... the only way I could approach those times is with rockets) Tom, glad you got a ride in. Ann and Kim, horseback riding brings back good memories. I rode western in high school ... just for fun, no competing. But I haven't had a horse since then. Amy must be out riding her bike I have reached my original goal of a bike century in a month. In fact, I should reach the 110 mile goal that Ann upped the challenge to. Did everyone hit their biking Madness goal? SOOO reassuring for sure DEE. thanks for the well-spoken reminder. as for the challenge i DIDNT meet my only requirement for the month to get outside on my bike though it could've easily been done, i didnt know at the beginning of the month my bike would be in the shop, so im letting myself off the hook in that regard. i DID however log 13.5 hrs of spinning, it will be 14.5 after tonight....and 177 miles + the 16 i'll be doing tonight. not bad im thinking. stacieb Edited by skrtrnr 2010-03-30 12:03 PM |

I may have been disowned if I forgot that one. My sister insists you do not cook it inside the turkey, my parents strongly feel that you do. I need to think of a way to make it without anyone knowing how it was done, then tell them all it was done their way. |
