Accidental contact...but usually gets called...so much at stake neither team wants to lose and not willing to gamble to win...maybe second half they will open up. Spain has a real problem up front..playing Villa on his own is not making enough chances for them...Germany giving all the possession to Spain so not getting many counter attacks

Uruguay/Netherlands yesterday was a BRAWL in comparison. Then again, arguably, those teams had less to lose, so to speak ... they had already done extremely well and exceeded expectation to get as far as semis.

An early goal always opens up the game....so yesterday that is what happened...and it took the goal of the tournament to do it!

For the final...does not matter who gets in...the game and tempo will be the same as Spain/Germany unless there is an early breakthrough for one side

Most WC finals are dour affairs not spectacles of great soccer.....

I know.  Just giving you grief.  Spains chances appear to be increasing.  Think the game is on the verge of opening up?

OK... I have meant to ask this:
What is the point of sub-ing people at the very last minute of the match?

And Sunday will feature a first time World Cup Champion no matter who wins.  Has the potential for an interesting game.

I really do hope to see an early goal just to see both of those teams REALLY open up the field.

A very legit prediction on the afternoon's game by Sir Paul
http://news.ph.msn.com/weird-news/article.aspx?cp-documentid=4186794

He picked Spain this time
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/06/paul-the-octopus-stuns-ge_n_636118.html

Sir Paul was right again!

I am considering betting in the Third Place match following his prediction.

Subs by Spain were to waste time.

The subs by Germany were to get fresh legs into the game.  That's usually a last ditch effort, and rarely is successful in changing the out come of the game.
