ceilidh - 2011-02-15 7:22 AM It got up to 72 yesterday!!! The winds were awful though. There is a forest fire across the valley that you could see the flames last night from our house. If it is windy here it is hurricane- like on the ridge. You could see trees explode in flames. I hope they get it under control today. They are bringing in the helicopters to dip from the lake. That is always fun to watch. They get the water right off our place.
All I can think of is RUN Bambi, RUN!

I'm home in bed today. The heart rate monitor had me up for almost 3 hours beeping last night. Now because I haven't slept I'm tired, and my heart is doing weird things, I hope the monitor is picking it up.

I'm going to try and get some sleep this morning.

I remember when I went to visit my sister in CA a few years ago and they were having wildfires everywhere. We actually drove by a fire on the side of the road, got through right before they closed the road. A few acres burned before they got it stopped. We passed a bigger fire heading up to San Francisco. The road was open but the winds carried the smoke across the highway, you could barely see. There was another fire closer to them, too. I remember sitting in her house and you could smell the smoke from the fire, it was eerie.
