As much as I really want to get out of here, it would be even worse to be stuck with a long commute and no flexibility.

Two hours a day is TEN hours a week. Even if you WFH one day a week it is 8 hours. Coming in and leaving early might help, but it is still a lot of time in the car. I don't want to sound negative but that's a lot of windshield time. I'm doing it, but for different reasons and with different personal commitments. Now, if they tell you 1 day a week in the office and 4 days wfh....GO FOR IT.  All that said, you have to decide what is right for you.

From talking with the people yesterday, it didn't sound like WFH was an option, plus I would have to work 1 Saturday every 3 months, and be on call for a month at a time every 3 months.

I was just sent an email from the recruiter who had originally contacted me asking me to fill out 2 forms. They wanted to do a background check, a credit check, verify past employment, verify my residence, verify education, and a few smaller things. I replied back telling her that without being offered a job, and me accepting it, I was reluctant to provide that much personal information.

Amen Sistah! I got a whole day of my life back when I got rid of my 1.5 hours a day commute.

Ann, you did the right thing. Those are typically done after an offer, which is contingent upon successfully completing all the various *checks.* (at least that's been my experience as a candidate and a hiring manager.) It does sound, however, like they may be making an offer. I wouldn't go to that trouble and expense on someone I didn't plan to offer the candidate a job.

I have ABSOLUTELY NO PATIENCE for that! I have walked out of Dr.'s offices several times because they were running that far behind. My time is valuable, too!

I am working on stuff for the tri that HAPPENS IN 2 DAYS!!! I am missing swag bag stuffing tonight because I will be at werk, and that's where we usually go down the final checklist of who is doing what, when. Ugh. But, it frees up tomorrow night for me to do everything I should already have done today, right? At least I was smart enough to take Thursday off work, when I have to have packets ready for racers to pick up Friday afternoon. Ugh. 72 hours from now we'l be handing out awards and we'll be done for a few months. 

While I work on tri stuff, I am also coordinating marathon stuff. I'm a little behind on my job there. Oops. 

i haven't even had breakfast yet. Anyone want to come kidnap me for lunch? I think that's the only way i would get away with anything other than fast food eaten while driving. 

Relax. Breathe.  I will come kidnap you, but we will not go for fast food.

Good day Ghoulies.

Hubby is doing well. 

Tree guy came and gave me an estimate.  Down comes two trees tomorrow and two others get trimmed.  I'll be happy to have the big pine down.  Every storm I think it is going to fall on the house.  The other tree I'm sad about.  We planted it when we first moved into the house 23 years ago, but it is 80% dead now and needs to get taken down.
