LOL!

Well, I come from a competitive swimming background, I swam competitively through HS and taught swim lessons, lifeguarded, etc, HS through college.

I started back into swimming a couple of years ago - I really had forgotten how much I loved it!

So, I guess I have a swim background that goes back a long, long way - but I've only been back at it for a little over 2 years

Off to our friends' Christmas party...white elephant gifts (we're bringing an extra one, cuz someone always forgets):

1.  Hula hoop (have you ever tried to wrap a hula hoop?)
2.  Can of SPAM (made rightcheer in MN, very easy to wrap)
3.  Half a package of Ferrero Roche chocolates with a picture frame containing a picture of me and my kids eating the other half.

I'll be sure to report what garage sale fodder valuable trinkets my wife and I come home with...

Must be just like a bike!  Once you learn, you never forget!

I didn't know how to swim until 2 years ago.  Well, I knew enough to keep myself from drowning!   I took some lessons and progressed so fast that my coach said I was way beyond his capabilities!  That made me feel really proud of myself!  I need to find a new coach.  My fiancee has been talking to a retired professional triathlete, lately, to try and get him to take me under his wing.  The man is simply amazing!!!  I feel like one of Dee's little friends in the pool when I see him swim!!!

that's great progress!  wouldn't that be awesome to have someone like that coach you.

I think it is a little like riding a bike - it was acually kind of a strange set of circumstances that got me back in the pool.  One of those things that seemed like a bad thing at the time, but ended up with some really good outcomes in the long run.

It was kind of cool, last Jan I went to a tri clinic and the guy that was doing the swim portion of the  clinic turned out to be my old HS coach - how funny is that! 

Anyway, they taped us under water and my form was still pretty decent after all these years. - it made me feel really good!

when we were doing the swim drills, it was like deja vous - the same thing I needed to work on then, still haunts me today - LOL

Hello nibs! Just wandering through on my way to nowhere.

Dee, I know how you feel about the cookies. I'm right there with ya. The sitter made cookies with the kids last night while I was at a work C-mas party, and i ate a few. I haven't done much of anything as far as physical activity. I have been severely lacking in the motivation department this month (as evidenced by my empty log....)

Hiya Nibbs - sorry I missed you all today....

I finally have my tree up and decorated.... YAY!!!   And I officially will NOT be going near the shops again until christmas eve... well thats what Im saying right now!
