Love that one... that's me!!  How is it we dwindle down to me last summer, I split the load with my boss, we hire two more people, and I still have two programs in my portfolio that I never had before?

I don't usually discourage others from entering nursing, but you have to know that you want this or the torture instructors put you through in school and the garbage you have to contend with (bodily fluids, nasty docs/managers/pts...)isn't worth much.  However, if it's what you really want to do, there's a huge need for nurses and you could just about pick your specialty getting right out of school thses days without the "recommended" time on a med surg unit (BORING).  The fact that you can be flexible with how you are scheduled is nice for child care issues when there are little ones around.  I usually use a day off for kids orthodontia trips instead of burning a vacation day too so I wind up with more time off to really have vacation with

I applied once before, but then decided to change majors and never even opened up the mail... don't think I got in b/c avg gpa acceptance was 3.8 I had 3.5.  Spoke with nursing instructor from univ that's in my ski clinic.  She thinks that having all my pre-req's done (even have patho phys under belt) and combined with my BS and MS (MS in exercise phys/cardiac rehab) that I could get straight into the advanced 15 mth program no problem.  But I really don't want to even consider this until little one is in Kindergarten (3 more years)  Would have to quit my job to focus on program, thinking that maybe I could personal train a little, but can't imagine trying to study at home with 2 yr old at side.

I love the flexibilty of my current job aside from working some Sat's (a lot in winter time) and occassioanl phone calls in the middle of the night fromthe alarm comp (hmmm, sounds like a nursing schedule)  I get comp time (have 60 hrs must use before 3/31 right now)  I this year I have 164 hours of use or lose vacation, oh and my insurance is better than hubby's and he works for a hospital.  I think it's just the possiblity of having a higher pay in the long run and hopefully getting back into cardiac rehab ( I do miss it) that's teasing me right now.

SWIM ????????????????? MILA JUST SIGNED UP TO SWIM IN FEBRUARY!

AHEM.  I swam in December, too... and then my swimming sucked all of this month while I worked on my sucky running... so I figure, it's easier to walk the run than drown on the swim.  Plus, my goal is 10,000 meters which will be my highest volume in one month (Dec. was 9500 or something).  Therefore, I expect constant nagging to get my a$$ in the pool. 

Think I'll do the same.  Still got tv to catch up on fromMon night.  I can hear hubby milling around upstairs, better get as well.

LOL, indeed!!!!  I am less than .5 miles away from my running goal for January... you'd think I coulda sucked it up and done it today... oops...
