Crowny - hardly a surprise that the mediocre player now turned commentator Kamara continues to attain the same standards he always has!

HA!  Did anyone see this?

That's hilarious, thanks. At least he had the grace to laugh at himself.

I was actually going to post today about that incredible performance yesterday by Messi. Fantastic. Barca made Arsenal look pretty bad--and they're in the hunt for the EPL. And of course ManUre faces the possibility of elimination today also. I've got that one set to record as well.

Haven't checked the TV listings, but hopefully we'll get the Real/Barca game Saturday.

The game was terrific, Messi 4 - Arsenal 1. Truly brilliant performance shown by the player whom inherit Diego's Maradona's number.

Some say.. he learn English from Chuck Norris

Seemed like an appropriate time to bump the thread since Tony started a hater thread.

Watched the LFC game this weekend, sorry Crowny. Interesting that the commentators said that Rafa was being mentioned as possibly taking over another squad and how he was underappreciated in England.

Yeah, I know.  Juventas has been one of the primary teams associated with him.  I wouldn't say he is under appreciated.  I will say though that up until this past year, he has not had the easiest time with the owners.

Wow, cool. Thanks for posting that.

Anybody catch the Champions League game yesterday? Inter sure looked very good and it will be difficult for Barca in the second leg I think.

When Barca scored first and the pressure they were putting on Inter, thought the game was over. But Inter kept their pressure on, even though the second goal (or was it third) looked off sides.

Crowny - read that a week ago...one of the owners says he will get 4X the money he put in...best investment he ever made...shows you that it was money not passion behind the purchase in the first place.

UEFA - it sickening that games are now won by inferior teams that just stop others from playing. All Inter did was pull, grab, trip and obstruct the skill players of Barca so they could not play the flowing football we saw in the last round against Arsenal. Plus every touch on an inter player was a criminal offense with the player writhing in agony...of course then you have Danny Alves....enough said!...thought that Inter's first goal was a tad fortunate coming from a bad cross, second was ok, third was a bad header to an offside player...so I think that Inter are fortunate to be up 3-1....

Just watched the Lyon / Bayern game...Robben is a mockery...skill, pace and the balance of a weeble..he plays like a 10 r old girl...not really a worthy semi final but I guess you reap what you sow in these competitions.

I sensed hatred in the air around here..

Inter was much dominant against Barca on that night, I think it should have gone 4-1 or even 5-1. The ref wasn't supportive during the first half, nonetheless they managed to pull it off.

Bcozican I hear you, but save your opinion until the #23 is on the field. He is the person you would want to verbally attack

Lyon was terrible, the only players whom didn't have yellow was the GK. Bayern played off-set.

Was only able to catch one match this past weekend and it was the Fire beating Houston.  First time they have beaten the Dynamo at home in 3 years.  'Bout damn time.

Saw that Liverpool did what it was supposed to do and actually thump a team that is going to be relegated.

Is also see that Shrek (Rooney) is out for the rest of the season but unfortunately so is Torres.  I think both are now concentrating on getting healthy for the WC.

Anyone else catch any matches this weekend that are note worthy?

Well, I did catch a couple of games this weekend, but neither were particularly note worthy.

Caught the Arsenal/City game. Probably the most significant result was the Givens injury. Really seemed like a pretty routine save, but dislocated his shoulder. I guess the draw helped your boys too, Crowny. You never know, they might just sneak into 4th.

Watched the Sounders get beat 2-nil by Toronto. Really disappointed because they looked to be the better squad for much of it.

Yeah.  But that is why they play the game.

Givens is a good GK.  That is quite the blow if he is out.

Caught just a smidge of the CL match yesterday.  Ribbery was out of it and will miss the final because of the reckless challenge last week.  Should be interesting to see how that will affect the final.

I've got tickets to the Fire v Chivas match this coming Saturday.  Looks like it is going to be another cold and rainy one.  Great

I've also got tickets to the May 30th Fire v. AC Milan match.  It is a rematch from a few years ago when we lost 3-1.  Will be interesting to see who AC Milan will put on the field for the match.

Weird timing for those friendlies - all the international players will be headed to WC duty so that would rule out a lot of the regular first team for Milan...probably get a lot of youth and reserve players but since they have Italian names or some other country most fans wont know the difference!

Very true.

It is part of AC Milan's post season "tour".  I agree it is very weird timing for the friendly.  But since the ticket is part of my season ticket package, I'll be going.  I just don't see the national teams allowing any of their players on the squad to participate.

Yawn....probably one of the blandest final pairings in a while.

Caught the game today - Anti-football at its finest and typical of Moaninho teams. Waste time from the kick off, pack the defense and sit...roll around as if hurt to waste more time, argue every call..to waste time...stop drop and roll if touched ...to waste time...granted they lost a guy to an academy award performance for getting touched in the face....but still...

They were lucky to survive in the end..the Barca goal at the end should have been good since it did not hit Toure on the hand but in the stomach.

I may even skip watching the final because it will be a 1-0 borefest or decided on PK's after a "thrilling" 0-0 in regulation.

Bring on the WC....hopefully that will provide some positive play

I love reading your posts.  You are one of the most critical persons I have every had the pleasure of reading.  You are better than half of the talking heads.  Love it.

Moaninho all but said he was going to "park the bus" in this game after the goals the racked up last week.  Hell, the match was half Italian (parking the bus, wasting time, etc) and half Portuguese (flopping, arguing with the ref, etc).

I'm really looking forward to the WC.  I just hope the US makes it out of the first round.  Anything less will be a failure.

HA! as they say,  an insult all wrapped up in a compliment! But appreciated none the less!

Guess I just want to see the game played to entertain and not just win

Its nice to have a place to post that is somewhat neutral and not blinkered by partisan spectators. Hope we can keep the thread alive for a while longer!

Gentlemen, here is the verdict: Inter is an Italian team. Surely in last night match we would see some Italian signature play such as tactical defense and controlled passings.

Obviously, this is a completely a different form of football. Unlike FA, where we can see the players runs in the pitch like having stealing something, Serie A is more thinking (and sometimes "acting").

To make fair point, although Inter probably have an above average defense, the managed to show a brilliant attacking form on the home game. Last night showed of what Inter is good at.

P.S.: I think Barca were a bit over the moon, Inter got a red card because one of their player softly touch a Catalan's face

and a thousand others that say the opposite....sorry but as smart as some think Moaninho is others have the polar opposite view....

Example - will he now stop moaning about the Luis Garcia goal in the semi final a few years ago since he basically is in the final thanks to an offside goal in the home leg?.....I doubt it.

The man is a self centered narcissist - I think that's an oxymoron but conveys my opinion of the man nicely.
