I drive fast, I get some tickets.

Speaking of that... well, not really. Anyway, go listen to "I can do whatever, I'm white" on youtube. It's a parody of T.I.'s "Whatever you like". I laughed hard.

yeah, i've seen that...hilarious!

TheSchwamm - 2008-10-31 2:26 PM i have never gotten a speeding ticket.

Schwammalammagonnadoanythingforhalloween?

Um, bike ride tonight, then going up to my parents' house to celebrate my mom's birthday. Congrats on turning your test in!

Thanks!  I hope you have fun tonight.  My advisor has invited us to come over to her place.  We can hang out with her daughter who just turned one or hand out candy to the kids.  One of her grad students (foreign) hasn't ever seen the whole Halloween thing.

One word:  females.

6'2" whitey can't get away with that nonsense.  Po-po doesn't seem to like it when I get all flirty to get out of a ticket...

This 6'1" 270lb dude has been given a pass on many a ticket by breaking out the southern drawl and being polite... does wonders...

I'm 5ft1in....and Mexican........got placed in hand cuffs until the cops could assure themselves that my INSURANCE COVERAGE HAD LAPSE.............f*ckers....

Well, I-87 has 3 lanes and there are no signs anywhere that say you can't drive in the far left lane. I-90 is a two-lane road on each side, so I guess that's the rule. But I just hadn't driven on many highways in general at that point, except for I-87 where there is no such signage. And I didn't see the signs at that point.

Similarly around here - 495 has 4 lanes in most spots. There are NO signs like there are on I-90 or the Jersey Turnpike.

Technically it's a rule everywhere, but it isn't followed in some places.  Near NYC, people drive in whatever lane is going the speed they want.  Or they swerve in an out of traffic if they can't find a lane to their liking.

I was taught you can go as fast as the route marker (e.g. I-87 = 87 MPH)

Yes, you aren't supposed to drive in the left lane for more than a mile if you aren't passing.

These are the people I pass on the right, with my middle finger in the air, yelling obscenities.

No, that's because you're an a$$hole.

I am specifically talking about the road that have the SPECIFIC signage. Not all roads have that. On a TWO-LANE road is where you generally see those signs. Not on a multi-lane highway.

That's what happens in Richmond, too.  I still know that it's a rule and don't drive in the left lane if I don't have to.  Unless I'm on I-295, which is in desperate need of repaving and only the left lane isn't insanely bumpy.

To morons that drive slow in the left lane? Yes, I am.

I wasn't driving slowly. I was driving at the appropriate speed. In fact, the officer didn't say anything about me driving slowly. Not to mention that it was a weekday afternoon and there were NO cars around. He just said that I was in the left lane too long.

Just because I'm a woman you automatically assume that 1.) I'm a bad drive and 2.) I'm a slow driver? Seriously, you really are a d-bag.

I did not mention ANYTHING about my driving slowly in the left lane. That's not why the cop stopped me. And he didn't give me a ticket, so clearly it wasn't a serious enough issue. Certainly not one that would warrant the yelling of obscenities from d-bags like Ryan.

I think we're talking about two different situations.  In Ryan's case, yes they are a$$holes.  I hate when I can't pass people in the left lane because they want to sit there and drive slow.  That's not what it's for.

In your case, you shouldn't have been driving there, but you weren't really causing any harm.  I think he was just telling you and it was nice of him to not give you a ticket.

I was never saying you were an a$$hole.  Just the people Ryan was talking about.

He stopped you most likely since your hot..{I've never seen you}   quite a few attractive female friends of mine get stopped in the middle of the day, for very minor things and it's usually the cop just wanted to chat up a nice looking female

they see if you flirt with them first... it's their built in excuse if you object to being pulled over for being blond/brunette/redhead.    My boss is the slowest driver I knew but has blond hair and a pretty face.. she gets pulled over all the time,
