LazyMarathoner - 2008-12-06 10:28 PM Hi Vixens, anyone around tonight? I had a super busy day getting the new life in order. Unfortunately that didn't allow for a workout, but I have a race tomorrow morning. And it snowed! Our first of the winter.
Kristin - did you get snow in the city when we had it about a month ago? some of the schools were closed for 3 days because it knocked down alot of power lines.

Not in my neck of the woods at least, although I heard rumors of flurries around Central Park. This is the first real snow I've seen, it was pretty cool.

something about snow that just makes everything seem fresh and new. It's like it covers up all the dirt that's out there. so easy to make it symbolic.

Hey Vixens, just did a 10k and believe I set a PR! I wasn't necessarily trying but it felt right so I went for it. I'll know once official times are posted, my watch said 49:51. Of course it doesn't count for the challenge

NICE Kristin!!!!! Way to go. I set my 10k PR in Central Park too. And that's such a difficult course. I see more PR's in your future. But, don't do what I do and get all over-confident and everything and then get injured.

Funny thing - my ex-gf (who caused all my grief) probalby ran it today. Did you trip her by any chance?

Congrats!! Really great time Kristin.  It's snowing here today, was the course snow covered or plowed out for your race?  I may take a quick warm-up run in the snow before swimmng today just for fun.

Hi Vixens-

I'm off to the Y to try and get a swim in.  Hopefully the third day of trying will be the charm I need to finally get in the pool! Debating the wisdom of a "warm-up" run in the slush & snow for some crappy weather points. I'm am Totally LOSING in that challenge.

On second thought in that challenge losing might be good...

The snow was pretty wasn't it?  I'm not a big fan of snow but I loved how it stuck to the trees and made everything pretty.  Love that most of it is gone now too!

KOM - 2008-12-07 8:49 PM Hi Vixens!

Hey Kathy!  What did you do today?

Read the paper and balanced the check bookSurprised.  Also ran outside in the snow to get a few crappy points before lifting and swimming.  Do you think you'll come up for the swim clinic Kathy G mentioned.  I've heard lots of good things about the coach.  I'll probably try to go if it's not to far over my abilities.

Hello, hello, hello Reindeer!!!

It's the moment you have all been waiting for, anxiously hitting repeat all weekend long, in tense anticipation of....

RESULTS: THE FIRST WEEK
It was a short one, getting into the swing of things and getting used to that wonderful winter weather. Reindeer are happier when it is colder, right? With 16% of the month over, the standings are:
1st: Vixens at 16.93%
2nd: Dancers at 14.51%
3rd: Comets at 12.11%
4th: Blitzens (Blitzii?) at 11.67%

Now some of you have noticed that a teammate may not have a goal stated. In fact, on three of our four teams, we have a slacker member lagging behind. While I've PMed them, if you happen to be chattin' 'em up, let them know that they are at 0% for the standings and dragging their team down. Oh, and congrats to the Blitzii, whose team is all on the ball in that regard.

Get those workouts done, get them logged, and don't let your limiter this month stare you in the face for months to come!
