Actually, I really liked The Dark Knight.  I hated all the other Batman movies, so I didn't expect to like it, but it was good.

I thought they took the growly menacing voice thing too far.  Half the time I was struggling to understand what he was saying.  Enjoyed the movie though.

We watched Doubt recently - great acting there and another good movie, but Meryl Streep is just tiny bit over the top imo (speaking of overacting).  Also an exploding nun or two would definitely have added some excitement.

I guess I was a little disappointed with the Oscar noms this time around... some very good movies like B Button and Slumdog but nothing that really made me think "this is the best movie I have seen for a year."

 I really liked the ones from the previous year - No Country for Old Men, There Will be Blood etc.

Christian Bale was in it? 

Funny, the other characters were so strong Batman was almost a supporting role.  I can't really remember much about him.

I have to admit when I think of Batman I expect to see "Pow!" "Bam!" during the fight scenes.  I'm dating myself, aren't I? 

Exploding nuns make everything better.

We tried very hard to see Road to Roubaix - a documentary about the crazy French cycling race.  It was playing at a local theater sponsored by a local bike shop.  But by the time we scrambled to get a sitter, it was sold out.  I was so bummed.  But they may do another showing in a few weeks.

We may get that big snow yet!  It would be so funny if it snowed a bunch tonight since we were just talking about it earlier this week.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.  I know my kids are really want to go sledding.

BTW - how did you like Transformers?  My husband and I watched it again last night.  I love that movie!

We enjoyed the movie, and Tristan really loved it.  He's been playing with his transformers all weekend.

I am watching the weather.  They *say* we will get snow, but since the snowblower works now it will probably just rain.

Are you sure that isn't code for "I was too hungover to get on my bike."?

We are getting a bunch of snow and the kids are going crazy.  They want to go outside and play but it's still snowing - sideways at times and butt a*s cold.

Hopefully the local pool will open up this evening so I can get my swim in.

The rest of the state has 10"-12".  Just our area got *lucky*.

I had to put off my swim until later because the Y is closed.  

Heh...  I wasn't exactly in the best of conditions, but I was ready to go.  It actually felt good to get a little more sleep, and it's the first long ride that I've missed since I started the plan in December.  So, I'm not going to fret over it too much.

I am glad the snow is completely gone, though, and it looks like we'll have temps nearing 80 degrees this weekend
